Weekend Basketball Update

Both Girls Basketball teams were out of town on the weekend.

After league play on Thursday, the Junior Girls headed to Fort Frances for tournament play. According to Coach Benson, “The girls were pretty tired as we had played a game earlier in the day but tried as best they could to give St. Pat’s of Thunder Bay a very good game.” The final tally in the first game was 27-22 for St. Pats. In their next game the team met Hammarskjold, a dominant Thunder Bay team, and fell 37-17. The team closed out the tournament with a 54-4 win over Superior of Thunder Bay.

The Senior Girls attended a players clinic in Winnipeg on Friday. They played one game against the Jr Bison select team, dropping 42-31. These events were part of a “Basketball Jamboree Weekend for the Cure”. The team helped to raise almost $10,000 for breast cancer through participating in the clinic.

All court sports teams head to Fort Frances for league play today.

Good Luck Eagles!
