Morning Announcements – Feb. 17, 2010

Feb. 17 Matchmakers!  Last chance to buy yours is today @ 12:20 in room 117 – Remember to bring your $2.00
Feb. 17 Mrs. Durocher’s period 2 Block D Grade 11 Cosmetology class bring your mannequin and cosmetology kit to class.
  Semester 1 Grade 10 Cosmetology students can pick up their mannequins in the library.  Please check with Mrs. Storgard.
Feb. 17 Be A Denim Donor.  Warehouse One is having a clothing drive.  Bring in your old blue jeans & get $10.00 off a new pair.  All donations go to people in need.  You can drop them off or call for a pick up.
Feb. 17 Graduation pictures will be taken on February 17, 18 & 19th.  Yearbook pictures are free, but a sitting with proofs are $10.00, $15.00 or $20.00 depending on the type of package you want.  You must get your picture taken with Lifetouch in order to be in the composite picture on the wall.  Sign up sheets are in the main office.
Feb. 17 The Canadian Red Cross is holding their 9th annual Feast or Famine on February 18th and 19th.  You can collect 8 volunteer hours by taking part in this fun event.  Sign up sheet and sponsor forms are in the Guidance Office.

2010 Badminton Tryouts

Badminton season starts soon, and the DHS Badminton team is holding tryouts starting next week.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 or 5:00 (Listen for announcement on monday morning for time)

Tryouts continue on Tuesday, Feb. 23-5:00-6:30 (both gyms) and Thursday Feb 25-3:30-5:00 (both gyms).

Tryouts are open to all students!

Please see Mrs. Tremonti or Mr. Fejos if you are unable to attend.

Girls Hockey – Eagles over Fort Frances 7-4

Morgan Church takes the faceoff Tuesday night in Dryden vs. the Muskies.

The Dryden Eagles Girls hockey team continued their winning streak tonight with a decisive 7-4 victory over Fort Frances.

The Muskies opened up scoring in the first, but were eventually outgunned by the Eagles in their final home game of the season.

Kyley Engstrom, Morgan Church and Alex Wesley lead the way with two goals each, while Lauren Shoguchi added a single. Engstrom and Shoguchi both had three assists, Alex Wesley had two and Morgan Church, Kristin Bartlett and Alex Reid had single assists.

Great work girls!

The girls head to Fort Frances on Tuesday to wrap up the regular season.
