Morning Announcements – Nov. 1, 2010

Nov. 1 Students are reminded that U of Ottawa and U of Waterloo representatives will be here today.  Sign up and details available in the Guidance Office.
Oct. 28 – Nov.2 This is a reminder to ALL grade 9 students to return the registration form for participation in the “Take Our Kids To Work Day” by Tuesday, Nov. 2nd to your Block A teacher.
Nov. 1 Attention Grade 12’s with Safe Grad Tickets – Ticket books must be turned in by Friday November 19th unless you have made other arrangements with Mrs. Griffiths. 
Nov. 1 Canadian Blood Services is asking for over 35 students and staff to help hospital patients by donating blood at DHS on Nov. 3 from 4:30 – 9:00 and Thurs. Nov. 4 from 12:00 – 3:00 & 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  There are 35 appointment spots to fill between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m.  Those wishing to donate at other times or for other information can call 1-888-2-DONATE.  A single donation can help up to three people, so every donation counts!
Nov. 1 Grade 12 students are encouraged to check out the bulletin board and binder in the guidance office for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
Nov. 1 This year at the Festival of Trees there will be a “Dryden Kids Have Talent” Show.  It will be Nov. 27th at 6:30 p.m. at The Centre.  You can sing, dance, perform magic, or tell jokes.  Registration forms are here in the main office.  Sign up early as entries are limited.  There is a $5.00 minimum donation to Grace Haven per entry.

DHS Court Sports Results

The Dryden Eagles Court sports teams are in Kenora to take on the Beaver Brae Broncos today.

The Junior Boys have defeated the Broncos in three straight, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-12. The Senior Boys were handed their first loss of the season in five sets – 21-25, 20-25, 25-12, 25-20 and 13-15.

The Senior Girls tamed the Broncos in a 31-9 rout. Morgan Church  led the assault with 9 and Andy Louttit added 8. The Junior Girls also won their match, with a final score of 33-31.
