Boys Hockey “A” side champs in Winkler

The DHS Eagles Boys Hockey team are the “A” side champions in Winkler, MB this weekend.

The boys played strong games on Friday which moved them into the “A” side semifinals on Saturday.

Game one saw DHS over Morden with a 4-1 score. Ryan Lobreau scored 2 goals, Josh Reid and Daimon Wesley added singles. Kim Wildhaber was in net for win

Game two ended with DHS over Pointe des Chenes 4-3. Daimon Wesley had 2 goals, Jake Berrey and Blair Dingwall had one each. Zack Lake took the win in net.

On Saturday, the boys took game 3 with a score of 5-2 over Stonewall. Goal scorers were Ryan Lobreau, Zack Pitchenese, Grant Valiquette, Matt Bartlett and Jared Stratford. Kim Wildhaber was in net  for the win.

Dryden met Kenora in the “A” side finals at 7pm on Saturday. DHS took this game, with a final score of 4 to 1. Goal scorers were Ryan Lobreau, Jared Straqtford, Grant Valiquette, and Josh Reid. Goaltender Zach Lake took the win in net.

“Despite going undefeated this weekend, we still need to work on our consistency and learn to play a complete game on a regular basis.” said Coach Oltsher, “We used our speed to our advantage this weekend and it showed on the scoreboard. The boys played hard and deserved to win this tournament and hopefully we can carry this success through to our regular season games.”

Morning Announcements – Jan. 8, 2010

Jan. 8 There will be a Coop meeting today for those students scheduled to take coop semester 2.  The meeting is pd. 2 in room 118.  Today’s meeting is for students with sir name beginning with A through to M.  There will be another meeting on Monday for the remaining students.
Jan. 8 There will be an epicly important MA meeting today….MA members need to be there.
Jan. 8 Hey everyone!  Do you like working on jigsaw puzzles?  If you do, come to the library before school, during lunch or after school to put the pieces in place for the Eagle in the Sky.  Once completed, it will be displayed in the library.
Jan. 8 All members of the Nordic Ski team are asked to meet in room 137 at the beginning of lunch today.  All consent forms are to be in to Mr. Schmidt by the end of the day.
Jan. 6 – 8 Any students interested in ordering a leather jacket this year should see Mr. Zilkalns by the end of today.  An order will be placed if there is sufficient interest.

Please note that exams scheduled for Monday, January 25th have been rescheduled to Monday, February 1st.
