DHS Nordic Skiers compete in Atikokan

The DHS Nordic Ski team travelled to Atikokan Wednesday for competition.

Candace Glowa got a silver medal in the senior girls division (4.5km) with a time of 16:52 and Kjell Schmidt got third place in the senior boys division (7.2km) with a time of 23:35.

The weather was sunny and warm, with a start time temperature of about -2 degrees Celsius.

9 skiers competed from DHS.  For 3 of them, this was their first taste of competition.

The Nordic Ski team travels to Thunder Bay for NWOSSAA on February 10.

Jan. 14 Anyone interested in helping our school’s anti-violence group please come to our next meeting on Tues. Jan. 19th at 3:15 in the library.  See you there!
Jan. 14 There will be a Safe Grad decorating meeting on Monday night in the library from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Jan. 14 Students who are currently working on courses through Outreach or/Alt. Ed are reminded that you have until Jan. 27 to complete all lessons and tests.  If incomplete, permission from Guidance will be needed to complete these courses.  The Alt. Ed. area will be open during exam week.  We look forward to seeing you there to complete your work on time.

Jan. 13 Thank you to everyone from DHS who helped with Grace Haven’s Festival of Trees.  The bands were fantastic and every volunteer was so helpful.  Don’t stop giving your time and talent to your community.  You are awesome!  Happy New Year!
