Weekend Basketball Results

 The Dryden Boys Basketball teams competed in the St. Ignatius Falcon Invitational tournament on the weekend.

The Sr. Boys opened with a 52-20 loss to St. Ignatius.  In their second game, they dropped a tight 44-29 game to Westgate. On Saturday morning, the Senior Boys played their last game of the tournament against the Nipigon-Red Rock Lakers.  The Senior Boys played to win all game and came away with their first win of the season.  Final score – 44-24 for the Dryden Eagles.

The Junior Boys played with a lot of heart and determination.  They opened with a 70-39 loss to St. Ignatius.  In their second game, they dropped a tight 35-28 loss to Superior Collegiate from Thunder Bay. On Saturday morning, the Junior Boys played their last game of the tournament against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints from Kenora.  The Jr. Eagles battled hard all game and came away with a convincing 53-44 win.

Both teams are now off for the exam break.  The Junior Eagles resume play in the Kenora Invitational tournament January 29th and 30th.

Thursday Court Sport Results

The Dryden Eagles traveled to Fort Frances on Thursday, January 14, 2010 for league play against the Muskies.

The Junior Girls Volleyball team continued their strong efforts with a 3-0 win over the Muskies. Set scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20.

The Senior Girls Volleyball team posted a resunding 3-0 victory with scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-15. Coach Desautels said that the team “did a great job of maintaining pressure throughout the entire match.”

The Junior Boys Basketball team fell 61-33. Coach Darling said “the day was a success on the basketball court in the sense that the team was generating more offence.”

The Senior boys Basketball posted a 36-23 loss in a highly defensive match against the Muskies.

Morning Announcements – Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15 Volunteers are needed to help at the Dryden Ice Dogs games tonight and tomorrow.  If you can help out – just show up at game time & remember to bring your volunteer sheet.

Jan. 15 There will be a Safe Grad decorating meeting on Monday night in the library from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Jan. 15 Students who are currently working on courses through Outreach or/Alt. Ed are reminded that you have until Jan. 27 to complete all lessons and tests.  If incomplete, permission from Guidance will be needed to complete these courses.  The Alt. Ed. area will be open during exam week.  We look forward to seeing you there to complete your work on time.
