Morning Announcements – October 2nd, 2013

Oct. 2 In football yesterday, the Muskies coaching staff admitted the Eagles were the better team after the Eagles put up 422 yards of offence.  Big plays and a kickoff return touchdown with 40 seconds left allowed the Fort Frances team to escape with a 29 – 24 win.  The coaches are very proud of the team’s effort yesterday!
Oct. 2 Hey Girls!  Have you ever thought about a career in the skilled trades and technologies?  Would you like to meet inspiring women from your community who have found exciting and rewarding careers in a field they love?  On October 23rd, Skills Canada is hosting a “Skills Work for Women” networking dinner.  For more information or to register for this event you can go to the GO.
Oct. 2 (11:30) Reminder to come and sign up today at 11:30 in Room 117 for the ultimate dodge ball tournament that will start next week.  It’s only $5.00 each and all proceeds will go toward the Terry Fox Foundation.   Also come out and watch or play at the staff vs student dodge ball game today at 11:45 in the big gym.

Oct. 2 Are you interested in the field of nursing?  There will be a Bachelor of Science Nursing information session on Tuesday, October 8th at 4 o’clock at the Centre.  For more information, stop by the guidance office.

Signup sheets are in the guidance office and a complete list of all presentations is posted by the guidance office.

Oct. 2 The Dryden Rotary Club is sponsoring a grade 11 or 12 student to attend Adventures In Agriculture.  Interested students should go to the GO. (Deadline is Oct. 25th to register)
Oct. 2 – 15 On Sunday, October 20th the Youth Advocacy Training Institute will be hosting a youth training from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services @ 24 Duke Street.  This is a free event and is a great way to get your volunteer hours.  Snacks and lunch will be provided!  The training includes ice breakers, energizers and information on creative ways to advocate. If you are looking for a new opportunity that’s fun you can go to the GO to get a form.
   
Oct 7,14,21 There will be a Gay-Straight Alliance meeting on Monday’s in room 206 at the start of lunch – everyone is welcome to attend!
