Morning Announcements – November 21, 2011

Nov. 21 – 23 Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 24 any students who are interested in learning how to “shuffle” which is a style of dance, can come to room 117 at 11:30 a.m.
Nov. 21 A reminder to students of the SAVE meeting today at 3:10 in the library.
Nov. 21 There will be a Lakehead U. presentation on Thursday, Dec. 1st @ 10:30 in the library.  Please sign up in the Guidance Office.  There will also be a parent’s information session that night from 7:00 – 9:00 in the DHS library.
Nov. 15 – 22 Note to graduating students:  there will be training sessions regarding applications to Ontario Universities and Colleges.  College (OCAS) presentations will be all day today and University (OUAC) presentations all day tomorrow.  Students must sign up in the guidance office for a presentation in their desired block.
Nov. 21 If you have an anti-bullying idea, please enter it in the box here in the office.  Deadline to enter is today.
Nov. 21 A rep from Con College will be at DHS on Dec. 6.  Please sign up in the guidance office if you would like to attend the presentation.
Nov. 21 Dryden High School is decorating a tree for the Festival of Trees again this year.  The tree is to be decorated in items a teenager would like.  Staff & students can bring items for the tree to the Resource room by today.  The tree will be decorated tomorrow.  Thank you for your support
Nov. 21 Sunset Country Heritage Music Association is in need of volunteers to help serve food & help with clean up for their Christmas dinner & dance @ the Legion on Saturday, December 3rd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Contact Mervin @ 216-8319
Nov. 21 The Vermilion Bay Happy Go Lucky Seniors Centre is in need of volunteers for a Bake Sale on Nov. 26th from 11:00 – 1:30.  Please call 227- 5375.
Nov. 18 Festival of Trees to support Grace Haven is looking for student volunteers to help with moving, decorating, set up, serving coffee & tea and the special events help.  Come to the office for more information.  (221-2233)
Nov. 18 Grade 12 students are encouraged to check out the high school website for the latest scholarships and bursaries.  Stop by the guidance office for more information.
Nov. 18 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario, MUST let the guidance office know, or transcripts will not be sent.
