Monday December 18, 2017 - Thursday December 21, 2017 - We will work on the marketing plan template.
Friday December 15, 2017 - We will start the Marketing Plan. We will discuss what a marketing plan is, why it is done, and go through the parts of it. We will use a marketing plan template to help get the information before we write the plan.
December 14, 2017 - Today, we will start the class with a quiz
on Pricing. We will then finish up our crossword puzzles on Place (aka
Distribution and Logistics). Please submit:
December 13, 2017 - We will take up the pricing worksheet that
we have been working on... especially the math stuff.
Monday December 11, 2017 - Tuesday December 12, 2017 - We- We will look at Pricing. We will complete a pricing worksheet.
Thursday December 7, 2017 - Friday December 8, 2017 - We will do a review of advertising and sales promotion so far. We will then take a note on AIDA. We will then look at the Advertising and Sales Promotion Assignment. We will present on Monday. We will also talk about the end task.
Wednesday December 6, 2017 - We will start the class with a Compass Survey, which, is a great example of marketing research.
Tuesday December 5, 2017 - Wow! They closed the entire school.
Monday December 4, 2017 - Today busses have been cancelled, so if you can make it in, it will be a great day to catch up on things.
Wednesday November 29, 2017 - Friday December 1, 2017 - We will work on our Goals of Advertising Project.
Tuesday November 28, 2017 - Today is a day-in-lieu for your fine efforts in the store. You can come to class however if you would like to get caught up on things or you just need a place to hang out.
Monday November 27, 2017 - today is a PD Day
Friday November 24, 2017 - We will have a little time to finish up our SWOT analysis/USP/Big Idea assignment.
Thursday November 23, 2017 - We may start the class with a short quiz on Advertising and Promotion so far. It may very well be an on time quiz, so don't be late. We will talk about USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and the Big Idea. This often is generated from something we call a SWOT Analysis, which we will also discuss. Then we will do a little assignment based on that.
Wednesday November 22, 2017 - We will start with a review of advertising and going over the questions assigned last day. We will look at What Advertising is Important for
November 21, 2017 - We will have a little more time to work on
our look at print ads from yesterday.
November 20, 2017 - We will finish the branding and positioning
unit and segway it into the advertising unit by having you watch this
little video from TED
Talks. Scroll down to the second video titled - Morgan Spurlock: The
Greatest TED Talk Ever Sold. Once you have watched the video, type up
a little journal on it including:
November 16, 2017 - Friday November 17, 2017 - We will wrap
up the Brand it!!! assignment. We will look at what makes effective logos,
slogans, etc. We will look at a number of them.

Textalyzer-Video2. Although most things nowadays are innovations,
we still see the odd invention out there.
Thursday November 2, 2017 - Friday November 3, 2017 - We will have a chance to finish up assignment we have been working on.

October 31, 2017 - Happy Halloween... Your Focus Group proposal
Monday October 30, 2017 - Today we will have a day to finish up the Invention and Innovation assignment. Also, your Focus Group proposal is due tomorrow at the beginning of class. It will be 5% per day late. This assignment will be weighted quite heavy so you want to do well on it.
Thursday October 26, 2017 - Today was a snow day... a great day to get caught up if you are behind.
Tuesday October 24, 2017 - We will have the first half of the class to wrap up the Focus Group Proposal. Please be ready to submit. Follow the guide to a T. For the second half of the class, we will start the class with a note on Product Development. We will then discuss Invention and Innovation. We will then take that and work on the Invention and Innovation assignment.
Thursday April 21, 2016 - Today we will start a unit on Product Development. We will start with a fun little quiz and then we will look at the MEC website/MEC profile in our textbook.
Monday October 23, 2017 - We will work on our focus group assignment.
Thursday October 19, 2017 - Friday October 20, 2017 - We will work on the Focus Group assignment.
October 18, 2017 - We will now jump into Primary Data. We will
be looking specifically at focus groups. We will have a discussion about
this. Then, I would like you to check out the following links to focus
Monday October 16, 2017 - Tuesday October 17, 2017 - We will review secondary research and then start on the secondary research project.
Friday October 13, 2017 - We will hopefully see the one last Consumer Motivation presentation. We will have some time to finish up our marketing research collage. We will then start discussion Secondary research.
Thursday October 12, 2017 - We will work on the Marketing Research project. When finished, please hand in WITH your rubric fully filled out.
October 11, 2017 - We will finish off the remaining presentations
from yesterday and do a review of the four motivators.
Tuesday October 10, 2017 - We will look at the four factors that motivates consumer purchases - biological, emotional forces, rational, and social forces. We will then be assigned to a group, given one of these four and will teach the class our area and do a 30 second commercial for an applicable product.
Friday October 6, 2017 - We will continue our look at consumer profiles and work through a consumer profile worksheet. We will finish off the class by listening/watching Under the Influence with Terry O'Reilly - Guys and Dolls:Gender Marketing

Thursday September 28, 2017 - If everything is done, I would like you to get in groups of MAX 3 people and research some frozen products that we can sell in the store. They should be relatively healthy. You need to find a Canadian supplier (between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg), find out costs and suggest selling prices. Prepare a short report OR verbal presentation. Ensure that everyone in the group participates. Find out things such as our cost, what could we sell it for, minimum order quantities, contact info, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

September 25, 2017 - We will have some time for the Product
Life Cycle Assignment. Then, when this is done, I would like you to select
ONE of the following TWO articles and complete the questions below in
a MS Word document.
Friday September 22, 2017 - We will look at the Traditional Product Life Cycle and its five stages. Students can complete the Product Life Cycle Assignment.
Thursday September 21, 2017 - We will finish up our Next Mc__________project.
Wednesday September 20, 2017 - We will look at the Marketing Mix (the four P's). We will complete the Next Mc___________ project. Read the assignment carefully. Don't lose the rubrick. You will hand it in with the project.
September 19, 2017 - Today we will likely start the class with
September 18, 2017 - Today we will use the class to finish up
our Economic Utilities print ad. Remember to incorporate as many of the
economic utilities and resulting benefits into your ad. ALSO, incorporate
the elements of a print ad that we have discussed.
Friday September 15, 2017 - Today we will review Economic Utilities, features and benefits. We will then complete our Advertisements that focus on these things. When you are completing these advertisements, you MUST also incorporate the Elements of a Print Ad that we have previously talked about. Remember that this time, it is not a poster for the wall, but an ad for a magazine/newspaper, so your reader will have more time with it generally.
September 14, 2017 - We will do a bit of a review, Then we will
talk a bit about Economic Utilities (Value) and how it connect to features
and benefits. We will look at the five economic utilities: form, place,
time, possession, and information.
Wednesday September 13, 2017 - We will have about 20 minutes to finish our Marketing Activity Brochure. Please have it ready for Thursday along with your rubrick. We will also look at Needs, Wants, and Demands. Finally, we will look at the Marketing Concept.
Tuesday September 12, 2017 - We will use this class to work on our Marketing Activities Brochure Assignment. It is due Thursday. Please remember to check the schedule to see when you work.
Monday September 11, 2017 - We will work on our Marketing Activities Brochure Assignment for the first part of the class.
Friday September 8, 2017 - We will look at Creative Thinking, what it is, why it is important, and why we often don't do it. We will look at Mental Locks and how to bust past them. We will review the definition of Marketing is and we talked about that. We examined the Jones Soda Company on page two of our textbook (I made a handout) and discussed the methods by which they marketed their company. We also looked at the the Ten Marketing Activities and started the Marketing Activities Brochure Assignment.
September 7, 2017 - A reminder that your MarketMe project is
due at the beginning of class.
Wednesday September 6, 2017 - Well, yesterday was not all that smooth. Hopefully Illustrator will work better today. We will hopefully have some time to get things ready for the store tomorrow.
Tuesday September 5, 2017 - I would like to start the class off with some basic advertising and poster making basics. I would also like to show you how to use a program called Adobe Illustrator to do this. We will need to get a store schedule created and get the store ready to open up tomorrow. You may need the Eagle's Nest logo
Friday September 1, 2017 - I will be collecting your MarketMe assignments... in whatever format you have done them in. Please submit your rubric to me when you hand them in. We will finish off listening to our Under the Influence The Wizarding World of Influencer Marketing segment. IF you were not here, please listen to it at home and finish the Journal sheet.
Thursday August 31, 2017 - We will use this class to complete our MarketMe assignment. You will only have one class to work on this. I expect a great job and LOTS of creativity. It is due on Friday.
August 30, 2017 - Today, we will go on the computer to set up
our directories and folders in our accounts. We will look at what marketing
is. We will also listen to the CBC program "Under the Influence"
and start our Under the Influence Journal and we will probably make this
a weekly event. Our first episode will be: Summer
