Tuesday May 28, 2019 - We will finish up the 3D push pin and paper note tutorial. I am a little gunshy to give you the next assignment, but here it goes.... We will create some bamboo trees. This tutorial will give you some experience creating your own symbols, a little more with the pen tool.... Let's hope it goes a little smoother than the 3D push pin.

Monday May 27, 2019 - Block A will finish up their Pen Tool assignment. Then, if time permits will work on the Create a 3D push pin and paper note assignment. Block D will finish up the Create a 3D push pin and paper note assignment.

Friday May 24, 2019 - Block A will work through the Pen Tool handout and then progress into the Pen Tool assignment (using the Pen Tool only to create outline letters of a word). Block D will finish this task off from yesterday and then progress into the Create a 3D push pin and paper note assignment.

Thursday May 23, 2019 - Block A will work on the creating Metalic Text assignment. Then, if time permits, we will start the Pen Tool assignment. A simple concept, a tricky and useful assignment that goes with it. Block D will wrap up a few other things and work on the Pen Tool assignment. I emailed you something for this.

Wednesday May 22, 2019 - Block A will continue with the Mail Merge assignment. Block D will start with Adobe Illustrator. I think a fun way to start would be with creating Metalic Text.

Tuesday May 21, 2019 - Both classes will work with the Mail Merge assignment.

Friday May 17, 2019 - Block A will continue with the Mail Merge assignment. Block D will go to the Powwow.

Thursday May 16, 2019 - Today is a late start day, so Block D will not have a class. Block A will likely start the main Mail Merge project.

Tuesday May 14, 2019 - Wednesday May 15, 2019 - Finish the PhotoDatabase and complete the Poster MailMerge Project.

Monday May 13, 2019 - Block A will start the Photo Database assignment. Both blocks will be taught MailMerging as well.

Friday May 10, 2019 - Block A will have an assembly during class. Block D will finish up the Photo Database assignment.

Thursday May 9, 2019 - Block A will have a tutorial on Photo Databases. Block D will finish up their Address book assignment and start the Photo Database assignment.

Wednesday May 8, 2019 - We will work on our Address Book assignment. Block D will learn about Photo Databases.

Tuesday May 7, 2019 - Both blocks will work on the Address Book assignment.

Monday May 6, 2019 - Block A will finish up the tutorial from Friday. Then we will start the address book assignment. Block D will work on the Address book assignment.

Friday May 3, 2019 - Block A will start databases: Microsoft Accress. Block D will carry on from yesterday in databases.

Thursday May 2, 2019 - Block A will finish up their Travel Report. Block D will start databases: Microsoft Access. We will work on a tutorial where we will learn what a database is, how to create it, the table, and other objects such as queries, forms, and reports.

Tuesday April 30, 2019 - Wednesday May 1, 2019 - Block A will complete any unfinished work. Block D will work on the Travel Report.

Monday April 29, 2019 - Block A will be working on the Travel Consultant Report. Block D will be finishing this up.

Thursday April 25, 2019 - Block A will complete the Peripherals assignment. We will learn the wacky world of page number and using section breaks to do this in MS Word. then, we will start the Travel Consultant Report. Block D will finish up their Travel Consultant project.

Wednesday April 24, 2019 - Block A will be introduced to Reports. We will look at the parts of a report and then start the report on Peripherals. We will also review hanging indents. Block D will hopefully finish up their Travel Consultant Report.

Tuesday April 23, 2019 - Block A will finish up their B2B lettters. Block D will work on their Travel Consultant Report.

Thursday April 18, 2019 - Block A will work on their B2B letters. Block D will work on their Travel Consultant Report.

Wednesday April 17, 2019 - Block A will start their B2B assignment. Block D will finish up their Peripheral Report and we will start on the Travel Consultant Report.

Friday April 5, 2019 - Block A will finish off the Conditional Formatting Assignment, start the FV assignment and maybe hit letters? Block D will work on Personal Business Letters and Business to Business Letters.

Thursday April 4, 2019 - We will work on the FV assignment and Block D will also start business letters.

Wednesday April 3, 2019 - Block A will work on the PMT assignment. Block D will work on the FV spreadsheet assignment.

Tuesday March 26, 2019 - Block A will finish up the Lunker's spreadsheet (If/then statement). We will then start a conditional formatting assignment. Block D will continue with the Conditional formatting bonus assignment.

Monday March 25, 2019 - Block A will finish up the first If/Then booklet. Then, we will start the Lunker's spreadsheet (If/then statement). Block D will start the Conditional formatting bonus assignment.

Friday March 22, 2019 - Block A will finish up the Lunker's spreadsheet (If/then statement). We will then start a conditional formatting assignment. Block D will finish up the Lunker's If/Then statement and work on the Conditional Formatting assignment.

Thursday March 21, 2019 - Block A will be finishing up the Pacific Boarder and then get introduced to IF/THEN statements. We will complete a tutorial together and then work on the IF/THEN assignment.

Wednesday March 20, 2019 - Block A - Will finish the Burger Barn Assignment and then get into the Pacific Boarder assignment. Block D will finish up the first IF/Then assignment and we will move into the Lunkers Fishing Hole assignments, which also uses IF/THEN statements. Please ensure that you complete the three step proceedure and then submit the spreadsheet and the formulas.

Tuesday March 19, 2019 - Block A - We will finish our Spreadsheet tutorial. Then, we will start the Burger Barn assignment.
Block D will complete and IF/THEN tutorial and then work on the If/Then exercises.

Monday March 18, 2019 - We will continue with Spreadsheets. The Block A class will be an introductory tutorial and the block D class we will print out and hand in the Burger Barn spreadsheet and formula and then we will work on the Pacific Boarder Assignment.

Friday March 8, 2019 - I think that this will be a great catch up day... maybe a foosball tournament kind of day.

Thursday March 7, 2019 - We will finish up the Setting Tabs tutorial. I will also start a spreadsheet tutorial for the block D group.

Wednesday March 6, 2019 - We will finish up the Hanging Indent exercises. I will mark them on your screen so I can see the ruler. We will have a Setting Tabs tutorial and start the Setting Tabs assignment.

Tuesday March 5, 2019 - I would like to wrap up our time in Photoshop for now... we will come back to it later. For some of us, we will start in MS Word looking at Hanging Indents.

Tuesday February 26, 2019 - I would like you to follow this Layer Mask tutorial. It is pretty cool. I would like you to watch both the video and read the information on the webpage. Then, I would like you to pick two images, one of a person or another subject (ie: your dog) and a background such as leaves (as we saw in the video) and try it out. Please let me know when this is done. I would like to see it.
When this is done, we will work on the Product Label assignment, which incorporates the Layer Mask technique. Remember that once the Layer Mask portion of this assignment is done, then you can complete the remainder of the Label in Illustrator.

Friday February 22, 2019 - I would like you to watch the following tutorials on the Spot Healing Brush and the Healing Brush. and this one on the Spot Healing Brush, the Healing Brush and the Patch Tool. Once this is done, I would like you to find a picture (of yourself or friends or family) where the subject has a lot of blemishes, age marks etc. I would like you to save this and then using these three tools, I would like you to fix up the image by removing all blemishes, age marks, crows feet, etc.

Thursday February 21, 2019 - Today we will learn about Clipping Layers and complete the assignment that goes with this.

Wednesday February 20, 2019 - Today we will finish up our Young and Older Assignment.

Tuesday February 19, 2019 - Today we will work on the Young and Older Assignment in Photoshop.

Friday February 13, 2019 - Today we will finish up our Favourite Outfit assignment.

Tuesday February 12, 2019 - I would like to finish up the the Who's your Neighbour assignment. Once this is done, I would like you to use Photoshop to create a graphic that tells me a little bit about you. Include your name, a background (picture or colours/patterns) and some pictures of things that interest you. If you have a picture of yourself (i.e. on Facebook) include that if you’d like. You will be using layer tools, the magic wand, text tool and possibly some paintbrush tools for this assignment. Be creative, and don’t be afraid to mess around with the program – see if you can discover new features and try to understand what they do. Here are some examples of past projects:

Monday February 11, 2019 - First, ensure that your Crayola Colour Cycle print ads are finished up.
Then we will start the Who's your Neighbour assignment. You can use any software that you like such as EMaze, Prezi, or Powerpoint. Please remember to bring your course outlines signed by your parents or guardians. I would like you to bring this to completion...or near completion today. Ensure that:
1. It is creative.
2. It is thorough - You have, in detail answered/discussed all of the things that I have asked you to.
3. It contains some humour.
4. You have checked for neatness, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
When you are done, email it to me at robert.beatty@k12.kpdsb.ca. Again, include your name and the assignment name in the subject line. Remember to include a subject line, such as :"Jared's Neighbour Presentation. Before sending, check to make sure that you have attached your file. Then, check you sent mail to make sure it went out properly. We will have to determine a day that we would like to do these presentations.

Friday February 8, 2019 - We will use this day to hopefully finish or near finish our Crayola Colour Cycle advertisements from yesterday. Ensure that you have included the Eagle's Nest logo which I have emailed you.

Thursday February 7, 2019 - Today, we will start by looking at Effective Print Ad/Poster Design and 5 Common Elements of a Print Ad. Then, we will look at the CrayolaColorCycle website. Then using Adobe Illustrator, we will create some advertising for this program that we can hang up in the school.

Wednesday February 6, 2019 - Welcome to BTA3O0. Today, we will look at an introduction to the course, class rules, lab rules, and then have some fun icebreaker games. Today, we will learn about/review hierarchies and how they relate to folder/file management. Then, we also will go on the computer to set up our folders in our accounts. If time permits, I would like you to:
a. open the following MS Word Document called Student Profile.
b. save it to your z:/drive in your Introduction folder.
c. complete the assignment, saving as you go.
d. email me the assignment to robert.beatty@k12.kpdsb.ca. Include in the subject line: YourName Introduction Assignment
