Nov. 23 | All members of the Art Council – that is the Visual Art, Dramatic Art and Music Assoc. are reminded that your cookie orders are due to Mr. G at lunch in the music room. Again, cookie orders to the music room at lunch. |

Nov. 23 – 25 | Any football players interested in learning more about playing football after grade 12 are invited to a meeting with a representative of the Winnipeg Rifles program on Wednesday at 11:30 in room 138. Options beyond the Rifles will also be discussed. See Mr. Zilkalns for more information. |
Nov. 23 | Second season tryouts for cheerleading will be held again on Wednesday at 6:50 a.m. Meet outside the small gym. If you have any questions, please direct them to Miss Aaviku. |
Nov. 23 | Grade 12 students applying to Ontario colleges – there will be online training sessions today & tomorrow. For those applying to Ontario universities, the online training will be November 25th & 26th. Sign up in the guidance office. |
Nov. 23 | Lakehead University is preparing for the “Realize Your Potential Fall Preview Day” on December 4th. This is a great opportunity for students and their families to tour the university and check out the different departments. For more information, stop by the guidance office. |
Nov. 17 – 24 | If you are interested in joining the DHS Ambassadors’ Tour of Russia in 2011, please attend their information meeting on Tuesday Nov. 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the DHS Library. Applications from DHS students will be received first come first served and will be screened on the basis of attendance, attitude, behaviour and effort. You and a parent or guardian must attend this meeting to qualify. Please note that our travel dates do NOT conflict with OFSAA. |
Nov. 23 | Dryden Atom Tournament organizers are still looking for student volunteers to keep time for their tournament which is taking place December 11th – 13th. Sign up is here in the main office. This is a good opportunity to earn some volunteer hours. |
Schools Building Schools Showcase on CJBN TV
Tune in to CJBN TV at 6:30 pm tonight, as the DHS Schools Building Schools group will be showcased on “Points North”. The footage was filmed at a Schools Building Schools training session here in Dryden and features images from Tierra Blanca as well as student interviews.
Schools Building Schools is a student-run initiative based out of schools across Northwestern Ontario that aims to raise enough funds to build a new Tierra Blanca School in E Asintal, Retalhuleu, Guatemala.
