Eagles Girls Volleyball OFSAA Bound

The Senior Girls Volleyball team wasted no time in dispatching the St. Ignatius Falcons to capture the NWOSSA AA championship on Friday in Thunder Bay.

The afternoon match was won in straight sets, 25-9, 25-23 and 25-15 and the evening match was another straight sets victory, 25-12, 25-9 and 25-10.

The Girls will represent Dryden and NWOSSA in Perth for the OFSAA championship March 9th and 10th.

Great work, team. Dryden is proud of your accomplishments and we will be cheering for you at OFSAA!

Morning Announcements – Feb. 26, 2010

Feb. 26 Music Association at lunch today.  Music Man rehearsal this Saturday.  Don’t forget your pot luck dessert and 5 bucks.  We start at 10:00.  See you there or you will have to join a good ole marching band!

Girls Hockey vs. St. Thomas Aquinas

The DHS Eagles Girls hockey team opened their playoff run on a high note tonight.

A hat trick from Alex Reid propelled the girls to a 5-1 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in Dryden tonight.

The girls played a tight, relentless game against TA, allowing only a single goal late in the game.

In addition to Reid’s three goals, Alex Wesley and Halle Lobreau added singles. Assists came from Church and Engstrom (three each) and Shoguchi, Dorfman, Church, Engstrom with two each.

The girls travel to Kenora on Sunday for game 2 of the best of 3 series. Puck drop is 7:30 pm.
