Morning Announcements – March 11, 2010

Mar. – Apr. Grade 12 graduating students…graduation is only a few months away.  Orders for your cap and gown can now be made at the office.  $20.00 will reserve a cap and gown … a requirement for walking across the stage.  If you are choosing not to attend the graduation ceremonies, please fill out a form indicating a cap and gown will not be required.
Mar. 11 All wrestlers are reminded to be in the big gym for their pictures 11:30.
Mar. 11 – 22 Once again the Canadian Cancer Society is doing a Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign.  If you would like to purchase a bunch – they are $7.00 per bunch or 2 bunches for $12.00.    There are 10 daffodils per bunch.  The order forms are here in the main office.  Orders must be in by March 22.
Mar. 9 – 25 Voices of the Future Forum, two – one day workshops being hosted in the small gym at DHS for Aboriginal Students will be held on March 25 & 26 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Lunch will be provided!  There will be draws for ipod nanos and numerous gift certificates for shops and restaurants in Dryden.  Sign up is here in the main office.
Mar. 8 – 12 Rainy River Community College, located in International Falls, will be here on Friday, Mar. 12th at 1:00 in the library.  They are also advertising a Tech Day held on their campus on Mar. 30th from 10:00 – 1:00.  If you want to find out more information about their Green Sustainable Tech, Industrial Tech, Energy Technician and Practical Nursing programs, please visit and sign up in the Guidance Office.
Mar. 8 – 22 There is a sign up meeting for the Eagles Club Track Team on Mon., Mar. 22nd in Room 109 at 3:15.  If you are interested, come to the meeting to find out more information.

Mar. 10 Thank you to all the staff & students who came out yesterday to support the Haiti/Chile earthquake Saucy Skills Competition fundraiser in the gym.  The total amount raised will be calculated & announced soon.
Mar. 10 A reminder that there is no drama rehearsal for the Music Man tonight.  However, we will pick a little talk a little over lunch.  All food orders are due today.

Oshki’a’ya’aag – (Young People) Voices of the Future Forum

Do you want to make a difference in the future of aboriginal education?

Your voice is needed to help shape a learning environment that will support your academic success!

The KPDSB is providing an opportunity for aboriginal students to come together to share experiences, challenges and provide direction to ensure aboriginal students realize academic success.

The Voices of the Future Forum consists of two one day workshops being hosted in the small gym at Dryden High School for Aboriginal Students. The forum will take place Thursday, March 25 and Friday, March 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Lunch will be Provided. Draws for IPOD Nanos and numerous Gift Certificates for Shops and Restaurants in Dryden.
