The Boys soccer team has qualified for the OFSAA Soccer Championship after defeating the Fort Frances Muskies 3-2 in the NorWOSSA final on Wednesday.

Earlier the boys defeated the Beaver Brae Broncos 4-2 to advance to the final round.

The Girls soccer team fell 1-0 to Fort Frances in the semifinal match.

May 26 Mr. Lalonde’s PAL volleyball class is to meet at Riverview Lodge this morning for 10:25 a.m.
May 26 Athletic Awards Banquet is Thurs. June 10th.  Tickets are on sale & can be bought from the Phys. Ed. office  for $10.00.  All athletes & their parents are welcome.  See the posters around the school for the theme & more information
May 26 Have you heard about the Empty Bowls Project?  It is tonight @ the Centre!  $5 dollars at the door, an extra $10 for special art work and you get soup with 6 bands, a play “When Girls Ask Boys On Dates and a vocal group.  All in support of the Food Bank and Red Cross.
May 20 – 28 The Vermilion Bay Northern Lights Credit Union has extended their bursary deadline to Friday, May 29th.
May 19 – 28 Canadian Tire is looking for student volunteers to help out with their Jumpstart Day on Saturday, May 29th from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Events will include Car Wash & Tire Shine, Jump for Jumpstart, Basketball Throw, Face Painting, and a Charity Barbeque.  Jumpstart is a fund raiser to give kids a chance to play this summer.  If you can volunteer, please call Heather at 223-4026, extension 238.
May 26 Attention all potential and past graduates!  If you have not filled out the Questionnaire for Grade 12 Students, please go to the guidance office.  These forms need to be filled out as soon as possible.
May 26 If you are a student in need of volunteer hours, organizers of Dryden’s first ever Centennial Run on Aug. 8th, are hoping to get some volunteers to help out at this event.  Help would be needed at hydration stations approximately every 2 km along the race route, help with set up and clean up and other race related jobs would also be available.  For more information call 223 – 4550.
May 26 Vermilion Bay Sr. Club is looking for student volunteers to help with an event on June 26th.  They would need help with setting up of tables and chairs, serving meals and then clean up after the event.  For more information call 755-1512.
May 26 Just a reminder for those members of the Music Man who still need to Pay for their shirts they still cost $17 and Mr. G is now impatiently waiting!!!

May 25 Mr. Zilkaln’s period 2 & 4 phys. ed. class today are to meet in the big gym…do not go to Sandy Beach.

May 21, 25 Eleven DHS Athletes competed in the 2010 NWOSSAA Track & Field Championships on May 19th and 20th, turning in some amazing performances and re-writing the regional and the DHS record books in the process.  By the time the two day championship was complete, DHS captured an individual title, recorded 6 top three finishes, set 1 NWOSSAA Record, 9 DHS School Records and served notice that they are serious about bringing home the hardware for DHS.  All are to be congratulated for their outstanding performances.
