Morning Announcements – Oct. 21, 2010

Oct. 21 There will be a brief meeting for all members of the Boys Hockey Team today @ 12 noon in room 212.
Oct. 21 Any Eagle athletes still owing Eagle Cards or money, must hand them in to Mr. Zilkalns, Mrs. Gardam or the main office this week.
Oct. 14 – 27 Need to earn an extra credit?  There will be a Religious Education Course offered after school.  The course will run one to two times a week between October 27 and June 1.  Please sign up in the guidance office to register.
Oct. 21 This year at the Festival of Trees there will be a “Dryden Kids Have Talent” Show.  It will be Nov. 27th at 6:30 p.m. at The Centre.  You can sing, dance, perform magic, or tell jokes.  Come to the main office for a registration form.  It will be limited entries, so sign up early.  There will be a $5.00 minimum donation to Grace Haven per entry.

DHS Runners take Silver and Bronze at NWOSSA

The DHS Eagles took home Silver and Bronze at NWOSSAA Cross Country Running Championships yesterday in Thunder Bay.

The Midget Boys came within inches of taking home Gold with their Silver medal performance, led by Kirk Markowski, Nick Fenton, Christian Moline and Ryan Hron.

The Junior Girls stuck together from the gun to the tape, bringing home NWOSSAA Bronze with individual performances from Rachel Egli, Tianna Markowski, Nicole Allam and Dominique Gardner.

Taylor Koshel led Candace Glowa and Katelyn Doudiet through the Senior Girls 5 km event with an outstanding 4th place finish.

In the final race of the event, the Senior boys saw outstanding performances from Garrett Lindquist, Kurtis Burnell, Nathon Mallyon, Jonathon Kereliuk, and Devon Noel as they took home fourth in the largest field of the day.

By the time the day was over, Dryden High School’s Cross Country runners turned in provincial calibre performances both as team members and individuals. Well done to All!

Morning Announcements – Oct. 20, 2010

Oct. 20 Good luck to our girls basketball and boys volleyball teams playing here today against Beaver Brae from Kenora.  Games start @ noon in the big gym.

Oct. 14 – 20 If you are in grade 11 or 12 and are interested in agriculture, the Rotary Club of Dryden would like to send you to Regina on November 24 – 28 for an all expense paid workshop.  If you are interested in this amazing opportunity stop by the guidance office for an application package.  Deadline is October 20.

Oct. 20 Any graduates interested in purchasing a grad ring are asked to pick up a brochure and sign up for a ring fitting at the main office.  A sales associate from Jostens will be at DHS again today for the ring fittings.  A deposit of $60.00 is required at the time of the fitting.  Cash, cheque, Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
