Nov 30 It’s that time of year.   Time to audition for the school Musical.   Come one and Come all and audition to be part of this year’s production of Mary Poppins.   This play has a large cast with a variety of roles.   So grab your umbrella, a spoon full of sugar, and let’s go fly a kite while you get ready to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.   Sign up and information can be found outside of the drama room.

Nov 30 Good morning DHS, its Friday Nov 30th. Happy Friday! Just a reminder that the expectation is that all students are to be in their classes at all times throughout the day. Please also note that all actions have consequences so please choose the way you behave accordingly.
Nov 30 We will be playing the movie “Incredibles 2” in the DHS Library today at 3:30 pm.  The movie is free, but refreshments will be available to purchase. Have a good day and a safe weekend.
Nov 30 The Eagle’s Nest Annual Christmas Parent Shopping Night will be on Friday, December 7th from 3:30 – 6 p.m.  An opportunity to stock up on some amazing Eagles wear!
Nov 30 Exciting News!  The DHS Yearbook Team is putting out a double issue 18/19 & 17/18 yearbook this year.  If you purchase one, it will be in your hands around June 10th of this school year!  The cost is $25 and must be paid by December 14.  If you paid your student fees in 2017/18 you will receive a yearbook.  If you are unsure if you paid your student fees check with the main office.  Yearbooks must be prepaid as they cannot be purchased after they arrive, and are not available online.
Nov 30 If you are in need of some volunteer hours, Patricia Gardens is looking for 2 helpers to sell raffle tickets on Saturday, December 1st from 10 am – 2 pm.  Please come to the office for the contact information. (Joy Auren 220-5822)
Nov 30 Thunder Bay Hammarskjold High School is looking at hosting a Northwestern Ontario High School Chess Championship.  Any students interested, please submit your name at the office.

Wed. Nov. 28th Announcements/Reminders

Nov 28 We will be playing the movie “Incredibles 2” in the DHS Library this Friday at 3:30 pm.  The movie is free, but refreshments will be available to purchase.
Nov 28 We will be having a “living library” with guest speaker, Sigvart Stoverud.  Come to the DHS Library at lunch tomorrow at 11:30 am to find out how it is to be a teen in Norway.  Refreshments will be provided & everyone is welcome.
Nov 28 A split in hockey action last night as the boys dropped a 3 – 1 decision to the Broncos. In Kenora, the girls skated to a convincing 14 – 0 victory.  The girls will travel to Portage this weekend while the boys prepare to host T.A. on Monday.

Nov 28 Reminder that official report cards are ready to be picked up in the main office by a parent/guardian or students can pick up if you are over 18. Parent teacher interviews are on Thursday, November 29th from 3:45 pm – 6:15 pm.
Nov 28 We have an intermediate volleyball tournament at the school today & we’d like to welcome all of the teams participating and good luck to you all.
Nov 28 Football players that left items behind in the locker room can get them in the basement today in the football storage area  Seniors that purchased their blue uniform can pick them up as well.

Nov 27 The girl’s hockey team outlasted the defending champions in Fort Frances on Sunday, recording a 4 – 1 victory.  The team is in action tonight in Kenora vs the Broncos.  The boys team host Beaver Brae at the Dryden Arena.  Face off is at 6:30 pm tonight.
