SAFE GRAD 2016

CASINO ROYALE

Safe Grad is a DRUG & ALCOHOL free event!!

 

Thursday June 23rd:              1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

  • Pick up CAP AND GOWN for grad ceremony.
  • Drop off your Safe Grad Bag. Bag MUST be a packsack or duffel type bag (NO plastic or garbage bags). Please note – family member/friend can drop off your pack. DROP OFF IS IN THE DHS STUDENT SQUARE.
  • Safe Grad Bag – THINGS TO PACK:
    • change of clothing, towel, swimsuit, socks, shoes (think comfortable!!) toiletries, undergarments, epi-pens, empty refillable water bottle
    • NO FOOD OR DRINKS of any kind. This includes water and energy drinks. Food and drinks will be served.

 

GRAND MARCH and DANCE:

4:15 pm                        Graduates will arrive at DHS in preparation for the Grand March. Meet at the Student Square and a Safe Grad Member will direct you to the proper location.

5:00 pm                        Grand March

8:00 pm – 1:00 am     Dance at The Centre for all Graduates and their escorts.

Friday June 24th:         

1:00 pm                    Graduation Ceremonies at DHS – You will be advised by DHS regarding this event and the time you need to be there.

9:00 pm                    Let the games begin! Arrive at DHS for games night!

9:00 pm – 12 am    Safe Grad Events outside of DHS: Swimming Pool, Bowling Alley, Laser Tag

9:00pm – 2ish         Air Games (Big gym) and Casino (Little Gym)

 

**** IF YOU LEAVE THE SCHOOL AT ANYTIME (excluding the supervised activities off site, or the designated outside area) you WILL NOT be allowed back inside of the school. You MUST sign out before you leave.****

** Although we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that there will not be any cross contamination of food items for those with allergies.**

 

IMPORTANT – NO BAGS will be allowed to be checked in the morning of graduation rehearsal or before the Grand March (June 23rd) or Safe Grad Games Night (June 24th). If bags are brought to the school the night of Safe Grad, you will have to wait until everyone else has checked. No bags are to be left at the office.

 

PLEASE leave iPod’s, wallets and valuables at home. YOU DO NOT need money of any kind as everything is paid for and there is no cost to you. Please note that if you wish to use your cell phone the evening of Safe Grad for taking photos, it is permitted however, DHS AND SAFE GRAD ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.

 

GRAND MARCH TICKETS:  **Tickets for the Grand March can be picked up at the DHS Main Office beginning Wednesday, May 25th. Six (6) tickets will be allowed per graduate. Please be aware that seating is limited. Families will be seated on a first come first serve basis. Every effort will be made in attempt to accommodate large families. We encourage the Graduates to discuss their ticket needs among themselves to arrive at a solution.

Wed. May 25th Announcements

May 25 Potential grads, please come to the office to pick up the information sheet on Safe Grad events.
May 25 All Careers classes will be at lunch today in the Library.
May 25 DHS Students – summer school options are open for registration!  You have an opportunity to take coop, paid coop, independent study, and French immersion courses.  Students who are also interested in taking Careers & Civics this summer need to register in the Guidance office as today is the last day.  If you have already signed up for Civics and Careers this summer, you must pick up a registration letter in the Guidance office.  Please come to Guidance for more information.
May 25 Eagles athletes who have not yet paid their fees, it’s time to get this done.  Badminton was $65 + $10 if you got a shirt, soccer is $145 for girls & $180 for boys.  There are still a few earlier sports, wrestling, volleyball that also need attention.  See Mr. Zilkalns or the main office to pay.
May 25… If you are interested in taking a dual credit course this summer in either welding or digital photography, please sign up in the Guidance Office.  If you complete this course you will get a high school and a college credit!
May 25 2017 Grads, if you are interested in Safe Grad driving for the upcoming year (starting June 1st) please contact Carmen Moody via Facebook or text 938-7522. Upcoming driving events will be posted on the DHS Safe Grad 2016 Facebook group, for the time being, so pls join this group. In order to make this fundraiser successful for your grad we need your support.
May 25 The gym will be open Monday, Tuesday & Friday from 12-12:25.
May 25 If you are looking for volunteer hours, the Amesdale Cemetery Committee is having a work day on Sunday, June 12th beginning at 9:00 am. Please see the Guidance Office for more information.
May 25 Lakehead University is offering “fast pass” to students who will be attending there this fall.  This is a pre-orientation program designed to help incoming students learn about course registration, program details and university life.  For more information and dates, please visit the Guidance Office.

Tuesday, May 17th Announcements

May 17 Remember to come shopping at the Eagles Nest today!  All proceeds will go to the Wrolstad family so come down and support your fellow Eagle.

May 17 Eagle football tryouts begin after the long weekend.  Check the posters around the school for dates and times that you can get equipment and become an Eagle.  Permission forms for new players are on the desk in the main office.
