Student Council meeting today at lunch in the library. Elections will be held at the end of September.

Eagles Golf team returned to competition yesterday at Eagle’s Landing with 60 golfers from across the region participating. In the boys division the Eagles placed 2nd, 7 strokes behind St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Reider Paquette and Nolan Gill of Dryden finished tied for 5th, 3 strokes behind the winner. Good effort team!

Boys Hockey tryouts are on this weekend (Sep 18-19), sign up at the main office.

Subway is open in the cafeteria. Same rules as last year apply – grab and go!

Daily Announcements-Sep 13

Student Council elections for President, Vice-President, Secretary & Treasurer will be held at the end of September. To be eligible to run, you must attend at least 1 student council meeting prior to the election. Council meets every Wednesday at lunch in the library.

Junior Girls Basketball practice will take place after school today from 3:30-5pm. See Mr. Darling or Mr. McKillop.

The football team had a successful exhibition series last Friday in Kenora. The Eagles scored on both opponents while the defence did not allow a touchdown. The league commences this Friday when the team heads south to face the Muskies at 4 pm.

In preparation for honouring Orange Shirt Day on September 30, DHS is hosting a “Design an orange shirt” contest. The winning design will be displayed in student square on Orange Shirt Day. Templates for your shirt design can be found in the main office. See the posters around the school for more information about the contest and scan the QR code for information about the importance of the orange shirt. Submit your design by September 24 to Miss Kirouac or the main office.
