Student Council will meet in the library today at lunch.

The Foods class is having a bake sale this Thursday. Bring your loonies & toonies and quarters to student square to buy cupcakes, cookies, cake pops and candy bark.

If you missed last week’s meeting about body image and mental health training, please feel free to join us this Thursday at lunch! The group meets upstairs in the video conference room and snacks are provided.

Fiona Cook and Saige McLeod led the Senior Girls basketball team with 22 and 14 points respectively in the 54-31 Eagles win yesterday against the Ignace Falcons. DHS also prevailed in Senior Boys volleyball in 3 straight sets. The Junior boys fell a bit short but played hard. The season ends next Tuesday at home against Sioux North.

Spirit Day – Thursday is BLUE & GOLD day, Friday is Costume Day – there will be gift cards given out to the costume that is: scariest, funniest, best group and best overall. Send a pic to the Student Council instagram OR get your photo taken by a Student Council member at the backdrops in student square at your designated grade breaks in the morning on Friday.

Picture retake day is Thursday November 4.

PA day on Monday November 1 – no school for students.

Attention Potential Grads: there will be a representative from Sault College in the DHS Library on Tuesday October 26 from 10:30-11:30 am. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about Sault College and to have some questions answered. If you wish to attend this session, please sign up in the Guidance Office.

Body image and self-esteem start in the mind, not in the mirror. A healthy body image and solid self-esteem are a big part of well-being and positive mental health. There will be a free pizza lunch today upstairs in room 204B for students interested in getting together to learn more about this important topic.

Eagles Sports Update: the Senior Girls basketball team stayed perfect on the season with a 50-25 win over Ignace yesterday. Senior Boys volleyball swept the Falcons 3 sets to none to move their record to 3 and 2 this fall. Junior Boys volleyball dropped a straight sets match to Ignace. Court sports head to play Sioux North on Thursday and they will host St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday.

The football regular season concludes Friday when the 3 and 0 Eagles travel to Kenora to face the Broncos. The Kenora squad will look to average their 27-1 defeat from 3 weeks ago. Dryden will host the finals on November 5, regardless of the outcome.

Halloween Candy Grams are available to purchase for $2 in classrooms ~ deadline is Friday.

Then come see us! With the Music Association you can tap into your inner rockstar! Don’t believe us-come out on Fridays at lunch to the music room – come on down and have a fantabulous time!
