Student Council Spirit Week: Mon Feb 14-Valentine’s Day (selling roses for $5), Tues Feb 15-Jersey Day, Wed Feb 16-Olympic Colours Day, Thurs Feb 17-Blue & Gold Day, Fri Feb 18-Canada Day-the most Canadian outfit will win a $10 gift card.

Drama club resumes this Thursday at lunch in the drama room.

Eagles Sports are back in action! The boys hockey team hosted Kenora Wed night at 7 pm and the girls hockey team hosts Kenora Thurs night at 6:30 pm. Basketball & volleyball play home games next Tuesday.

The boys hockey team scored first on Wed night against the Beaver Brae Broncos but could not maintain the momentum as they dropped a 4-1 decision at home. The girls will seek to win their 1st home game of the season on Thurs-faceoff against Kenora is at 6:30 pm.

The girls hockey team skated to a 6-0 victory on Thurs night over Beaver Brae. 6 separate girls scored while Sydney Boyko & Sydney Cloutier shared the net for the win.

With the restart of hockey, volleyball and basketball there are a few opportunities to volunter and help. If you would like to be involved and Mr. Zilkalns has not already spoken to you, please leave your name with the Phys Ed office or Main office.

Study and Go Abroad Virtual Fair

Study and Go Abroad Virtual Fair: Bringing the World to you!On Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26, you and your students will have an opportunity to connect with universities and colleges from across the globe, including Canada, to learn more about programs offered, scholarships, and admission requirements. The virtual fair is free of charge, and open from 11am to 5pm EST on both days. Exhibitors (representatives from colleges, universities and professional schools) will be available to answer any questions and give information on short-term study abroad programs, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, available scholarships etc. Embassies and consortia will also be exhibiting at the fair.Similar to a regular fair, visitors to the virtual fair are able to visit booths, download brochures, watch videos, attend webinars and connect with university representatives. They will learn about scholarships, admission requirements and a full range of program options; Law, Medicine, Engineering, Sciences, Fine Arts and more.

Allied Van Lines Scholarship 2022

At Allied Van Lines, we are committed to improving the future of up and coming logistics and business professionals across Canada and North America.

We believe that education is significant and we place that belief into our core operating philosophy, everything from our standard practices, to our way of living. We are proud to be offering qualifying Canadian students and chance to apply for our new scholarship, which is intended for students across the areas of business, logistics, and similar fields. Four qualified candidates will be selected to receive an award amount of $1,000 each. Read ahead to find out how you can enter!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Canadian Citizen (or permanent resident).
  • Enrolled (or enrolling) as full time student of accredited college/university within a Canadian province, for completion of undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
  • Limit of one (1) entry per contestant.
  • Employees and professional affiliates of Allied Van Lines (and their immediate families) are not eligible.
  • The applicant must comply with CRA rules to qualify for the tax-free benefits of the scholarship, please see the rules here.
  • Your scholarship may be tax deductible.  However, you are responsible for any tax reporting requirements and any tax due.  We cannot give any tax advice

Copy of your most recent transcripts. Some verification of enrollment at your college. Your Essay.

Entry Requirements:

  • Submit a brief essay of between roughly 400 and 800 words, detailing why logistics/supply chain management is important within your college major of choice. A personalized tone, referencing your firsthand experience and sentiment, is best—no need to be too formal. We’d like to know why you truly believe in logistics as the best career path for you.

Award:

  • Total award – $4,000; Number of awards given – 4.
  • Maximum award – $1,000 per winner.
  • Award amount will be made out to your school in the form of a check, and mailed to your personal address.

Winners:

  • Winners will be notified via email.
