Oct. 22 The Eagles football team jumped to an early 28 – 0 lead en route to a 33 – 8 Homecoming win over St. Johns on Friday.  Patrick Pareis had 2 sacks of the Tiger quarterback & Ryan Martel & Brayden Hansson each scored 2 touchdowns.  Playoffs begin Friday at 5:15 in Winnipeg Stadium against the 5 – 2 Sisler Spartans.
Oct. 22 The next SAVE meeting is Oct. 23rd at 3:10 in the DHS library.  Planning is under way for this years anti- bullying activities.  Come on out and get involved.  It’s a great way to earn volunteer hours.
Oct. 22 Representatives from Sault College will be at DHS on Thursday, October 25.  If you wish to attend this presentation, please sign up in the guidance office.
Oct. 22 Dryden Community Living is inviting everyone to their Halloween Supper and Dance on October 26th at 280 Arthur St. from 4:00 – 9:00.  It is free!!!  They are also looking for volunteers to help out at this event.  Come to the main office for more information.

Any students interested in purchasing a class ring are asked to pick up a brochure and sign up for a ring fitting at the main office.  A sales associate from Jostens will be at DHS on October 24 & 25 for the ring fittings.  A deposit of $60.00 is required at the time of the fitting.
Oct. 22 The Dryden Chamber of Commerce is in need of some volunteers for Christmas Caroling at Midnight Madness on Nov. 16th.  If you are needing some volunteer hours please call Suzanne at the Riverview Lodge @ 223-4320
Oct. 22 The Kinette Club of Dryden is looking for volunteers to help out with a fund raiser on October 27th called MAMA NEEDS A NEW BAG.  The event is at the Centre from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Come to the main office for more information.
Oct. 22 Students interested in helping to sell poppies for the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to sign up in the guidance office.  This is a great way to earn volunteer hours.
Oct. 22 Every Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a nurse from the Northwestern Health Unit is running a sexual health clinic at DHS in the guidance office.  All appointments are confidential.  New and walk in appointments are welcome.

Oct. 4 Today is the welcome back BBQ and due to the weather we will have it in 124B today at lunch.
Oct. 4 A reminder to students that representatives from the University of Waterloo will be here today at 10:30 in the library.  Sign up in the guidance office if you wish to attend.
Oct. 4 TheTerry Fox Walk will take place the morning of Thursday, October 11th.  We will be having a BBQ shortly afterward with all proceeds going towards the Terry Fox Foundation.  Also, there will be a sign up sheet in the main office for any student who wishes to perform in front of the school after the walk.  It will be first come, first serve.  Hope to see you there!
Oct. 4 If you want to use the weight room…come to a meeting to sign up to get access at 11:30 today in the weight room.
Oct. 4 Dryden Childrens Delight organizers are looking for volunteers to help them out at 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at an event coming up on October 7th at New Prospect School.  If you are able to help them out by volunteering some time, please come to the main office for more information. 
Oct. 4 Interested in winning a $25.00 itunes Gift Card?  Fill out the online survey about youth substance use services in the region to enter.  The website is posted on the bulletin board by the guidance office along with instructions on how to enter the draw.
Oct. 4 Attention to potential grads.  There is a Safe Grad Questionnaire in the main office regarding the Theme for Safe Grad this year.  Please come to the office & fill one out and drop it in the box by Oct. 5th.

Sept. 24 Dryden High School net book role out will take place on Wed. Sept. 26th.  In order to receive your net book, you must turn in the yellow digital technology student user agreement form to the main office.
Sept. 24 Students interested in the Rotary Youth Exchange program are invited to attend a presentation this Wednesday at 11:30 in room 119.  As a Rotary Exchange student you’ll spend up to a year living with host families and attending school in a different country.
Sept. 24 There will be a Youth Cultural Land-Based Diabetes Prevention Autumn Gathering at Davis’ Bonny Bay Camp on Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  You must register by Wed. Sept. 26th.  Forms are here in the office.  A bus will depart from the Native Friendship Centre at 9:30 on Saturday morning.  Lunch and snacks are provided.  There are a limited number of participants, so register as soon as possible. 
Sept. 24 Starting Tues. Sept. 25 – Free Tutoring with a focus on math for grades 9, 10 and 11 will be available.  Tuesdays during Lunch from 12:00 – 12:30 and Thursdays in the morning from 8:15 – 8:45.  Location for all Tutoring sessions is in the library.
Sept. 24 The College Information Program will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria.  Students will be called down.
Sept. 24 The University of Manitoba representatives will be at DHS today at 2:00 p.m.  Sign up in the guidance office if you would like to attend.
Sept. 24 The University of Waterloo is once again offering the Aboriginal Post-Secondary planning trip, Oct. 14 – 20.  Deadline for applications is Thurs. Sept. 27.  Please pick up your application in the guidance office.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Ambridge.

Sept. 24 Picture day is coming to DHS on October 3rd.  All students must have a photo taken for a photo i.d. card and the yearbook.  If you are ordering a picture package, please bring your cheque or money on picture day to give directly to the photographer.
