Brandon University School of Music Virtual Open House – Fri Oct 22

It’s that time of year again! The School of Music at Brandon University is hosting a Virtual Open House on Friday, October 22, 2021. This event is an opportunity for high school students to experience online classes, recitals, and a free private lesson with a member of our faculty. Information sessions will answer questions related to our various undergraduate programs, the audition process, the University admissions process, as well as student supports, services and amenities that are available on our wonderful campus.  Students will meet our world-renowned faculty, especially those teaching and conducting research in their specific areas of interest.

This year students can attend the Virtual Open House for FREE. Additionally, grade 12 students who pre-register for the event can have their application fee to Brandon University waived. Grade 10 & 11 students who attend will have the option to attend next year’s Open House for free (hopefully in-person!).

Attached you will find a document containing the schedule for our Virtual Open House and information on how to register. Information is also available at https://www.brandonu.ca/music/open-house/.  Please share this document with any of your students who you think may be interested in studying music.

While most of us have returned to in-person learning (and more importantly, in-person MUSIC MAKING) the pandemic is still presenting challenges for teachers and students alike, so we hope this event can be a bright spot for students as they begin to think about their future. Our students and faculty have shown incredible resilience and perseverance throughout the pandemic, and have managed to stay enthusiastic and positive despite the challenges we’ve faced. We look forward to welcoming a new class of young musicians who share this same spirit!

If students have any questions about the Virtual Open House (or anything else related to admissions or studying music at BU), please do not hesitate to contact: teerhuisa@brandonu.ca,
