National Aboriginal Veterans Day

Good morning, My name is Baron Crowe. Grade 12 Dryden Eagle and Private serving with the Canadian Army Reserve.
I’d like to acknowledge that today is National Aboriginal veterans day. On this day we thank all First Nations, Metis, and Inuit men and women who answered the call of duty in times of war. Warriors to their people, and most importantly Soldiers of Canada.

Despite racial inequality, and discrimination. Many served proud and showed tremendous courage, time and time again. Leaving home to fight in lands they never before knew of.
This dedication of service to Canada is continued today, with many enlisted in the Canadian armed forces today. Including myself.

But let us never forget the fallen warriors, who never got the chance to return home. The contributions made by Aboriginal people in war, although mostly unheard of. Were huge to allied victories across the globe.
I ask you to have them in your thoughts in today’s moment of silence. Thank you very much and have a good day.
