Morning Announcements – Friday, September 13th, 2013

Sept. 13 The boys golf team continued their good play in Red Lake yesterday placing first in the team competition with a four player team score of 320 – 36 shots better than the nearest competition. Kirk Markowski led the way for the Eagles with a 77 to finish first overall followed by Cam Zappitelli in third place with an 80 and Trey Palermo in fourth with an 81.

In High School football action in Kenora yesterday, the Eagles defense held the Broncos to 7 points in the first half.  After the break the struggles of Dryden’s offence caught up to the team and Kenora cruised to their first win. The Eagles next play at home is on Friday, Sept. 20th against the Maples Marauders.

Signup sheets are in the guidance office and a complete list of all presentations is posted by the guidance office.

Sept. 13 Imagine white sand beaches to yourself; kayaking at the foot of a Volcano; zip lining through the rainforest; and learning about, while serving the environment.   This could be you over the March Break.   Bring a parent out to an information meeting about our trip to Costa Rica at 6:30 in room 107 next Tuesday, Sept 17th.
Sept.13 Brock Penner will be in the library for tutoring on Tuesday’s from 12 – 12:30  and Thursday mornings from 8:15 – 8:45 am
Sept. 13 There will be a safe grad meeting this Monday @7 pm in the library.  This message is for all graduating students, parents and guardians.
Sept. 13 Attention students and teachers.  In order to facilitate teacher learning we will be implementing a late start day once a month for this school year.  On late start days, busses will run at their regular scheduled times and students who are in the building will be supervised.  Dryden High School will have their first late start day on Monday.

The school day will be shortened so the hours are as follows:

Period One 10:15 to 11:00

Break 11:00 to 11:10

Period Two 11:10 to 12:00

Lunch 12:00 to 1:00

Period Three 1:00 to 2:00

Break 2:00 to 2:10

Period Four 2:10 to 3:10

The information letter is in the office if you did not receive one yet.

Sept. 13 If you are in need of volunteer hours, the Ice Dogs are looking for helpers on game days.  You can sign up at the main office if you are interested.
Sept. 13 The Dryden Rotary Club is once again sponsoring a grade 11 or 12 student to attend Adventures In Agriculture. THIS PROGRAM is held during the internationally acclaimed Canadian Western Livestock Show and Sale held annually in Regina. The program is aimed towards senior students interested in agriculture and is designed to help broaden knowledge and understanding of the versatile agricultural sector, environmental issues, and the challenge of providing food for the world. Interested students should go to the GO.
   
Sept. 12 There will be a sexual health clinic in the Guidance office every Monday between 11 and 1.  A nurse is available and no appointment is necessary.
