Morning Announcements – September 9, 2013

Sept. 9 On Friday we sent home three different handouts for students to take home.  If your class missed all three or some of the handouts or if you were absent on Friday, please come to the office to pick them up. 
Sept. 9 The Eagles Football team opened and closed the scoring at Daniel Mac on Friday but the more experienced Winnipeg team managed a 27 – 13 win.  The Eagles travel to Kenora on Thursday as they look to even their record.
Sept. 9-10-11(8:50 & 3:10) Cheerleader team tryouts will start this Friday morning at 7 am.  Look for the poster in the student square for more dates and times.
Sept. 9  Boys hockey tryouts will be the weekend of Sept. 14th.  The times are posted in the office and it is $20.00 to try out.
Sept. 9 There will be representatives for the Aboriginal University/College tour here on September 16thLakehead University will be here on September 20th

University of Winnipeg will be here on September 24th

Sept. 9 There will be a sexual health clinic in the Guidance office every Monday between 11 and 1.  A nurse is available and no appointment is necessary.
Sept. 9 – 13 Imagine white sand beaches to yourself; kayaking at the foot of a Volcano; zip lining through the rainforest; and learning about, while serving the environment.   This could be you over March Break.   Bring a parent out to an information meeting about our trip to Costa Rica at 6:30pm in room 107 next Tuesday; Sept 17th.
 Sept. 9   Please come out to the first meeting of the school year for the SAVE group in the high school library on Tues at 3:10 it is a great way to get involved in DHS and get your volunteer hours!! Hope to see you there!
Sept. 9 – 13 Brock will be in the library on Tuesday mornings from 8:15 – 8:45 and Thursday’s from 12 – 12:30.
Sept. 9 The DHS boys golf team kicked off their season in impressive fashion placing 1st at Eagles Landing with 5 players shooting in the 70’s. The team was led by Trey Palermo placing first in the individual competition with a 75, followed by Josh Kitt in second with a 76 and Adam Getson tied for third at 77.
Sept. 9 Mr. Lalonde’s PAL (Volleyball/basketball) class will meet in the small gym today.
***Message to all Parents/Guardians  All parents and guardians are invited to the first School Council meeting which will take place on Tuesday, September 24th.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm in the DHS Library.  Hope to see you there.
