Sept. 21 | Kenora’s size & toughness proved too much for the Eagles football team yesterday as they rolled to a homecoming victory. Bright spots for Dryden were Calum Cheesequay-Tom and Tyson Schollie on defense and Ryan Martel’s 45 & Brayden Hansson’s 70 yard touchdown runs. The team next faces # 1 Steinbach at home on Monday. |
Sept. 21 | There will be a Youth Cultural Land-Based Diabetes Prevention Autumn Gathering at Davis’ Bonny Bay Camp on Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. You must register by Wed. Sept. 26th. Forms are here in the office. A bus will depart from the Native Friendship Centre at 9:30 on Saturday morning. Lunch and snacks are provided. There are a limited number of participants, so register as soon as possible. |
Sept. 21 | Starting Tues. Sept. 25 – Free Tutoring with a focus on math for grades 9, 10 and 11 will be available. Tuesdays during Lunch from 12:00 – 12:30 and Thursdays in the morning from 8:15 – 8:45. Location for all Tutoring sessions is in the library. |
Sept. 21 | Vermilion Bay Community Garden is looking for some volunteers on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Just show up if you can help them out. |
Sept. 21 | The College Information Program will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students will be called down. |
Sept. 21 | The University of Manitoba representatives will be at DHS on Monday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. Sign up in the guidance office if you would like to attend. |
Sept. 21 | The University of Waterloo is once again offering the Aboriginal Post-Secondary planning trip, Oct. 14 – 20. Deadline for applications is Thurs. Sept. 27. Please pick up your application in the guidance office. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Ambridge. |

Sept. 21 | Students interested in helping to sell poppies for the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to sign up in the guidance office. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours. |

Sept. 21 | Picture day is coming to DHS on October 3rd. All students must have a photo taken for a photo i.d. card and the yearbook. If you are ordering a picture package, please bring your cheque or money on picture day to give directly to the photographer. |
Sept. 21 | The Northwest Catholic District School Board is preparing to offer the Grade 10 Religious Education Course. This is an open course with no pre-requisites required, worth 1 credit. Students in Grades 9 to 12 are welcome to sign up. Classes will be held at St. Joseph’s School, one night weekly for three hours to a total of 110 hours. Anyone interested in taking the course should sign up at the Guidance Office by 3:00 o’clock on Friday, September 21st. |
Sept. 21 | Every Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., a nurse from the Northwestern Health Unit is running a sexual health clinic at DHS in the guidance office. All appointments are confidential. New and walk in appointments are welcome. |
