Morning Announcements – Oct. 11, 2011

Oct. 11 The Eagles football team scored a resounding win at Homecoming … 41 – 9 over Tec Voc.  The offensive line opened really well, running lanes as both Jeremy Euler & Ryan Martel topped 100 yards rushing.  Defensively, the team used 4 interceptions and solid tackling to win the day.  Come be a part of Eagles history this Friday as the squad plays arch rival Fort Frances in DHS’s 1st ever home night game.  Kickoff is 7:00 p.m.
Oct. 11 The DHS Eagles took home gold again on Friday when they raced on their home turf against the Fort Frances Muskies.  Andie Wood set a course record in her win in the Open Girls event, with her team mates Nicole Allam and Dominique Gardner close behind in 3rd and 4th.  Kirk Markowski led Tyler Leonzio, Jake Wickstrom and Eldon Vandenbrand to an impressive 1,2,3,4 finish in the Open Boys division.  The Eagles XC team will meet top US teams in International Falls, MN on Thursday the 13th in their final meet prior to the NWOSSAA regional championships in Thunder Bay on Oct. 19th.
Oct. 11 Football players are reminded practice today will start in the film room.
Oct. 11 Any Eagle athletes who still have Eagle cards are to turn them in along with money from sold cards to the Phys. Ed. office or Main office.  Athletes who are owed prizes can see Mr. Zilkalns in the Phys. Ed. office.
Oct. 11 The meeting for the boys hockey team today at lunch in 208 has been cancelled.
Oct. 11 For all those who tried out for the girls hockey team please meet in room 116 at 12 noon today.
Oct. 11 Envirothon members are reminded to stop by room 107 to pick up permission forms for this Friday.  Want to join us?  Stop by room 107 for more information.

Oct. 11 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario, MUST let the guidance office know, or transcripts will not be sent.
Oct. 11 A math and english tutor is needed for a student attending New Prospect School.  Interested students are asked to contact the Guidance Office.
