On January 4th the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay will pass through Dryden, and DHS student Michelle Arseneault will be among those carrying it on its symbolic journey.

A local task force nominated individuals who represented the ideals of the Olympics and reflected the community. Michelle was one of those nominees, and when the task force voted she received the most votes.

Michelle said that she “agreed to be the Olympic Torch carrier in hopes that it will raise awareness about my campaign as well as environmental issues in general. I would also like to demonstrate to my peers and members of the community that one person can make a difference with hard work and determination. This hard work results in great opportunities; opportunities that you plan for and unexpected opportunities along the way.”

Michelle says that she hopes that everyone will join in on Dryden’s Community Olympic events leading up to the Torch Relay taking place on January 4th.

Congratulations Michelle. Dryden High School is proud of your outstanding accomplishment!
