Wed. April 11th Announcements

April 11 The RAD-ish meetings will begin again on Mondays at lunch in room 116.  Lunch will be provided at the next meeting and we’re having a poster-painting session.  See you there!
April 11 Lakehead University will be here to speak to senior students on Thursday at 9 am.  If any grade 11 or 12 student is interested in attending, please sign up in the Guidance office before Thursday morning.

 

There will be a MUNA meeting today at lunch in room 203 at 11:50 am.

Jack Talks will be meeting on Thursday at lunch – new members are always welcome!

Canadian Forces will be visiting DHS on Friday – if you would like to learn more about what the Forces can offer you, a recruiter will be in Student Square during lunch.

April 11 This year’s Gear for Grad Boutiques Day is May 4th and 5th.

If there are any potential grads who you think may need some help getting formalwear to attend grad festivities, please pass these names on to Guidance who can speak to the students about make an appointment for a fitting.

They may be provided with formalwear, accessories and, if they choose, hair and makeup treatments.

April 11 If there are any students at Dryden High who have a parent or guardian who is a member of Carpenters’ District Council of Ontario Local Union 1669 would they please go to the guidance office regarding funds that may be available to you?
April 11 Domtar’s annual Conservation Camp will begin on May 29th.  This is open to all Gr. 9’s to participate in 3 days of Natural Resources education.  This exempts you from the Gr. 10 science end task.  Space is limited so sign up now at the office.
April 11 The potential grade 12 graduates can now pick up the cap and gown form. You get to keep the cap and tassel but must pay $25.00 to rent the gown. Please return this form with your money ASAP so we can get them ordered by the end of April.  The cap and gown must be worn to cross the stage.

March-April Domtar’s annual Conservation Camp will begin on May 29th.  This is open to all Gr. 9’s to participate in 3 days of Natural Resources education.  This exempts you from the Gr. 10 science end task.  Space is limited so sign up now at the office.
March- April The potential grade 12 graduates can now pick up the cap and gown form. You get to keep the cap and tassel but must pay $25.00 to rent the gown. Please return this form with your money ASAP so we can get them ordered by the end of April.  The cap and gown must be worn to cross the stage.
April 5 Grade 12 students are reminded to hand in your Safe Grad tickets.
April 5 Kickin’ Country is this Saturday at the Centre. Doors Open at 6:20 pm & the Concert is at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased for $15 each at Lotto One.
April 5 Students who still need to submit their myBlueprint course selections for this year, you must complete this ASAP.  Please make a guidance appointment or see a counsellor if you cannot remember your password.
