Tues. Apr. 17th Announcements & Family Fun Fair!

April 17 KPDSB is having a “Fun Fair” on Saturday, April 28th at DHS.  We need help with setting up the event on Thursday & Friday (April 26 & 27) from 4 pm – 9 pm.  Please sign up in the main office if you are able to help with this event and it’s a great way to get your volunteer hours.
April 17 Coop students are reminded of their in-class day Wed, in the Library.
April 17 There will be a team captain Hoops for Heart meeting tomorrow at lunch in Room 107.  Each team needs at least one member there.
April 17 Reminder it will be a shortened day tomorrow.  Pd 1 will begin at 10:15 am.
April 17 This year’s Gear for Grad Boutiques Day is May 4th and 5th.

If there are any potential grads who you think may need some help getting formalwear to attend grad festivities, please pass these names on to Guidance who can speak to the students about make an appointment for a fitting.

They may be provided with formalwear, accessories and, if they choose, hair and makeup treatments.

April 17 If there are any students at Dryden High who have a parent or guardian who is a member of Carpenters’ District Council of Ontario Local Union 1669 would they please go to the guidance office regarding funds that may be available to you?
April 17 The potential grade 12 graduates can now pick up the cap and gown form. You pay $25.00 to rent the gown. Please return this form with your money ASAP so we can get them ordered by the end of April.  The cap and gown must be worn to cross the stage.

Mon. April 16th Announcements

April 16 DHS welcomes Perimeter Institute and the Power of Ideas tour being held in the small gym & Library today & tomorrow.  The exhibition is open to the public tonight from 6 – 8 pm & all are welcome at no cost. Teachers, there are a few spaces available on Tuesday if you are wanting to get your class in.
April 16 Reminder it will be a shortened day on Wednesday.  Pd 1 will begin at 10:15 am.
April 16 The RAD-ish meetings will be today at lunch in room 116.  Lunch will be provided at the next meeting and we’re having a poster-painting session.  See you there!

April 16 Domtar’s annual Conservation Camp will begin on May 29th.  This is open to all Gr. 9’s to participate in 3 days of Natural Resources education.  This exempts you from the Gr. 10 science end task.  Space is limited so sign up now at the office.

April 11 The RAD-ish meetings will begin again on Mondays at lunch in room 116.  Lunch will be provided at the next meeting and we’re having a poster-painting session.  See you there!
April 11 Lakehead University will be here to speak to senior students on Thursday at 9 am.  If any grade 11 or 12 student is interested in attending, please sign up in the Guidance office before Thursday morning.

 

There will be a MUNA meeting today at lunch in room 203 at 11:50 am.

Jack Talks will be meeting on Thursday at lunch – new members are always welcome!

Canadian Forces will be visiting DHS on Friday – if you would like to learn more about what the Forces can offer you, a recruiter will be in Student Square during lunch.
