June 6 We are calling all Artists!!  Please see the posters around the school about an Indigenous Art contest & there will be cash prizes.  This is open to all students at DHS & the deadline to hand in your art piece to the main office is June 14th.
June 6 Any students that are finished with DHS Library books or Chrome books, please return them to the Library.
June 6 There are numerous volunteer opportunities to earn your hours. The Dryden Regional Health Centre is always looking for volunteers (call Amy @ 216-9230 or Brenda @ 223-8201 ext. 1273.  The Dryden ball diamonds need help with their concession. Stop & see them at the ball diamonds between 5 – 8, Mon – Thurs if you’re interested.  Please come to the office or the Guidance office for contact information.

June 4 The Dryden Minor Softball league is looking for students that are in need of some volunteer hours to help work at the concession at the ball diamonds.  If you are interested in this please go there anytime between 5 – 8 pm Monday to Thursday.

Monday, March 5th Announcements

March 5 The Eagles Nordic Ski Team wrapped up their competitive season on the weekend at the Sleeping Giant Loppet in Thunder Bay.  For the first time ever, DHS Nordic skiers completed the 50km free event.  Amy Wickstrom completed the 50 km distance in a time of 3hrs, 46 minutes, placing first in her age group, while Payton Zilkalns finished in 4hrs, 31 minutes, placing 2nd in her age group.  Congratulations girls on an outstanding performance!  The rest of the skiers competed in the 20km event with Liam Jones placing first in his age group, finishing in a time of 1hr 13 minutes – 2 minutes ahead of Mr. Schmidt and placing 36th out of 292 racers.  Sarah Urquhart completed the course in 1hr 41 minutes.  Congratulations to all Nordic skiers for an excellent competitive season and Mr. Schmidt thanks you for all your hard work through another cold race season.  Enjoy the warm weather and fast trails through March, as the best skiing conditions are still to come!
