Earlier in the week, on Tuesday January 10th, the Eagles traveled to Ear Falls to battle the Red Lake Rams in their final matchup versus each other in regular season play. The Eagles struck early and often and when the dust cleared, they came away with a 7-1 victory. Alex Calvert was the story for the Eagles as he recorded 2-goals and 3-assists. Tyler Kirouac also added two goals, while Kale Kuzemchuk, Richie Callewaert and Kyson Jensson added singles. Brendan Szabo played well in net for the victory.
The Eagles next defeated the Thomas Aquinas Saints by a 4-2 margin on Thursday January 12th in Kenora. Tied after the first two periods by a 2-2 margin, the Eagles played well in the third, led by Kyson Jensson, who scored two goals to secure the win in the end. On Sunday January 15th, the Boys DHS Eagles Hockey team capped of a perfect week of hockey with a 4-3 victory over the Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora. Josh Brunton scored twice while Drew Walske and Kirk Markowski added singles. The Broncos scored late in the game and pressured the Eagles to try to send the game into overtime.
