Morning Announcements – Sept. 22, 2010

Sept. 22 Congratulations to our 4 court sport teams defeating Beaver Brea yesterday.  Thanks to all our fans for cheering on the teams.  Reminder – we play Fort Frances tomorrow, so wear your Blue & Gold/Eagleswear tomorrow & it’s the last day to be counted for the Block A Blue & gold contest.  Also a  reminder – come & play or watch the staff vs. students dodge ball game today in the big gym @ 11:45.
Sept. 22 Sr. Girls basketball won their first league game yesterday.  Candace Taylor and Wilma Oombash led the way with 10 points each!
Sept. 22 Students are reminded that representatives will be here representing 8 universities providing information regarding Aboriginal Education.  Come to the library Thursday Sept. 23 from 10:30 – 11:30.  Sign up is in the Guidance Office.
Sept. 21, 22 Students interested in competing in this year’s first Chess Tournament are to sign up outside room 109 by today.  Yes, we also have checkers.
Sept. 22 The Drama reading today after school will be from 3:30 until 4:45.  Please note the time change!  Talk to Mrs. Bloomfield if you have any questions.
Sept. 20 -22 Students are reminded that Algoma University representatives are here today at 2:00 in the library.  Interested students must sign up in the Guidance Office.
Sept. 20 – 22 If you are interested in helping out with Dryden High’s Antiviolence – SAVE Group, please come to a meeting today at 3:10 in the library.
Sept. 22 Safe Grad requires volunteers for this Saturday, September 25, selling tickets at Extra Foods.
Sept. 22 Mrs. Griffiths will be here on Thursday to collect ticket money and sign up volunteers.
Sept. 22 Do you need volunteer hours?  Do you love horses?  Do you want to make a positive impact on the lives of others?  Dryden Therapeutic Riding is committed to providing therapeutic, recreation and life skills training opportunities for children and adults with special need.  Volunteers are needed for all positions, and previous experience with horses is not necessary, as training will be provided.  If you are interested, a sign-up sheet is available in the main office.
Sept. 22 Volunteer drivers are needed for Safe Grad.  Sign up now in the main office for future events.  Parents, Grandparents, or siblings can volunteer to help out.  Grads can get Safe Grad points.    For more information, please contact Sherrie Ketterer @ 216-6792.
