Morning Announcements – Oct. 13, 2009

Oct. 13 The football team won its 3rd game in a row last Friday as they defeated Daniel Mac 23 – 14.  Derrick Tattrie scored 2 touchdowns while Jamie Mesics & Adam Swientek intercepted passes on defense, Swientek returning his for a TD.  Next up is a trip to play Kildonan East.
Oct. 13 We have home games tomorrow – Beaver Brae comes to town to play our girls’ basketball & boys’ volleyball teams.  Remember to wear your blue & gold/ eagles wear to school tomorrow.
Oct. 13 Please come out to the School’s Antiviolence Meeting on Wed. at 3:30 in the library and help us plan a Karaoke night and our Antiviolence Vigil.  Hope to see you there.
Oct. 13 Just a reminder to everyone that Rainey River Community College, from International Falls, will be here today at 10:30 in the Library.  Sign up is in the Guidance Office.
Oct. 9 – Nov. Grace Haven is looking for student volunteers to help with the Festival of Trees event this year at the Centre on November 16 & 17 for set up and Nov. 18 – 21 for event days.  If you are available for this event, please come to the main office to sign up.
Oct. 9 – 14 Do You say Swell?  Well if so my friends…   We have trouble, right here in Dryden High School, but Harold Hill thinks he has the solution as long as Marion the Librarian doesn’t get in the way.  That’s right, we are putting on the Music Man and you can be a part of it.  If you think you want to act, sing or dance in this musical, then come watch the movie, think you missed it?  Well it will be playing in the Drama Room today at lunch.  Stay tuned for announcements about auditions.
Oct. 6 – 23 If you would like to order a picture package from your student card picture, pick up an order form and phone number to call in the main office.  You must pay your student fee in order to receive your student card. Picture retake day is Friday October 23rd.
Oct. 2 – 23 The Children’s Resource Centre is looking for student volunteers.  For more information come to the m.o.
Oct. 7 – 16 Attention Graduating Students.  If you are interested in ordering a grad ring this year, representatives from Intergold will be at DHS on Oct. 20th & 21st.  Sign up in the main office for a fitting & pick up a brochure.
Sept. 30 – Oct. 15 Rotary International is offering a program for qualifying grade 11 & 12 students that are interested in Agriculture.  This opportunity includes an all expenses paid trip to Regina from November 25 – 29.  Deadline to apply is October 16th.  See Mr. Desautels in the guidance office for more details.
