Morning Announcements – November 10th, 2011

Nov. 10 A reminder to teachers that verification sheets are due in the office no later than noon today.
Nov. 10, 11 DHS Sr. Girls Volleyball tryouts will be on Sunday, Nov. 13th @ 10:00 until 12:00 & 6:00 until 8:00 in the small gym.  If you are unable to attend, you must contact Coach Desautels in the main office.
Nov. 10, 11 Students interested in playing Jr. Boys Basketball are to attend a pre-season meeting on Monday at 12 noon in room 109.  First try outs will be on Tuesday the 15th and Wednesday the 16th after school.  Please contact Mr. P. Darling for more information.
Nov. 10 An information meeting for Shad Valley will be held today at lunch in room 137.  For all students who received an invitation, please remember to email your response to Mr. Schmidt…even if it is “no”.  Anyone who did not receive an invitation, but is interested in attending, please do come to room 137 at the beginning of lunch on Thursday.
Nov. 10 MOTUS O dance theatre is auditioning for”  “A CHRISTMAS CAROL” which will be performed at the Dryden Regional Training and Cultural Centre on Dec. 6 @ 7:00 p.m.  This is your chance to perform alongside professional actors and dancers from MOTUS O dance theatre – Ontario Artists of the Year 2010!  If you’re interested in auditioning, here’s what you need to know:  Audition Location is Dryden Regional Training and Cultural Centre on Sat., Nov. 19 from 9:00 – 5:00 and Sun., Nov. 20th from 9:00 – 5:00.  For Audition Requirements please come to the main office for this information.
Nov. 8 – 10 Any students interested in working at Eagles hockey, the season is just around the corner.  Timekeepers and help at the ticket table are required.  See Mr. Zilkalns or Mrs. Gardam if you want to help.  Training is provided & is quick.
Nov. 10 Festival of Trees to support Grace Haven is looking for student volunteers to help with moving, decorating, set up, serving coffee & tea and the special events help.  Come to the office for more information.  (221-2233)
Nov. 10 Grade 12 students are encouraged to check out the high school website for the latest scholarships and bursaries.  Stop by the guidance office for more information.
Nov. 10 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario, MUST let the guidance office know, or transcripts will not be sent.
