Morning Announcements – May 6, 2010

May 6 The girls soccer team played well in Fort Frances  yesterday, coming out with two ties.  There was no scoring in the game against  Fort Frances and a 1-1 tie resulted in the game against Kenora with Halle Lobreau scoring our only goal.
May 4 – 10 Eagles football is approaching!  Anyone interested in trying out for next fall’s team is invited to a meeting Tuesday, May 12th at lunch in Room 138.  See Mr. Zilkalns if you can’t make it.
May 3 – 7 M & M Meat Shops is looking for 4 student volunteers for Sat. May 8 from 10:00 until 3:00  when they have their 22nd Annual Charity Barbeque Day benefiting Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.  If you can help out – call 221-6667.  
May 6 Any students needing volunteer hours:  Full Gospel Church is doing another forest clean-up on May 15.  Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Thanks to all the students who helped out last weekend, great job!  Please contact Mr. Shearer at 223-5504 or jim.shearer @ kpdsb.on.ca
May 6 The Flat Irons and Curling Irons are in for the Cosmetology Fundraising.  Please pick up in room 124A during lunch or between classes.
May 6 Anybody interested in volunteering at the air show on the May long weekend, or the Relay for Life on June 4th, please sign the sheets in the main office with the times that you are available.
April 21 – May 6 Canadian Blood Services is asking for 20 more students to help hospital patients by donating blood at DHS today from 12:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  There are 30 appointment spots to fill between 12:30 & 1:30 on Thursday.  Please sign up in the office.  Those wishing to donate at other times or for other information can call 1-888-2-DONATE. 
May 6 The Canadian Red Cross (Dryden and District Branch) is currently seeking volunteers for upcoming events.  Tag Day is May 21st at several different locations throughout Dryden.  For more information, contact the Canadian Red Cross office in Dryden at 223-4751.
