Morning Announcements – May 13, 2010

May 13 Congratulations go out the girls soccer team for winning both their league games yesterday!  Way to go girls!  Also, the girls are reminded about their 3:30 practice on Monday!
May 13 The boys soccer team split their games yesterday, falling 4 – 1 to Fort and defeating Kenora 3 – 2.  Blair Dingwall tallied once for the Eagles & Richie Callewaert hit the back of the net 3 times.  Next league games are in Kenora next Wednesday.
May 13 The boy’s and girl’s golf team finished 4th out of 8 teams yesterday at International Falls, Minnesota.  Josh Kitt led the way for the boy’s carding an 82, while Callie Graboski was the low girl shooter with a 90.
May 13 Hello Dryden Basketball fanatics!  Come to Hoop it Up tonight from 8:30 – 9:30.  The gym will be open and we will play ball.  This is open to all students.
May 13 The weight room will be closed to student use until Wednesday, May 19th.  This is as a result of members not cleaning the room after using it.  Hopefully when it reopens, members will be more responsible in policing themselves.
May 13 Do you like playing three on three basketball?  Then come to the meeting at lunch today in the small gym to sign your team up.
May 13 All right visual arts members it’s workshop time.  There will be a workshop today at 3:30 until 4:45 in room 130.  Cost is $5.00.  Learn techniques with fancy inks to make art, cards & jewelery.  Sign up in the art room.
May 13 Northwestern Health Unit has a student job opening.  Be sure to check out the posters around the school for more information.
May 13 If you are a student in need of volunteer hours, organizers of Dryden’s first ever Centennial Run on Aug. 8th, are hoping to get some volunteers to help out at this event.  Help would be needed at hydration stations approximately every 2 km along the race route, help with set up and clean up and other race related jobs would also be available.  For more information call 223 – 4550.
May 13 A reminder to grade 12 students applying for local bursaries and scholarships:  The deadline for several of the local bursaries and scholarships is May 15th.
May 13 Vermilion Bay Sr. Club is looking for student volunteers to help with an event on June 26th.  They would need help with setting up of tables and chairs, serving meals and then clean up after the event.  For more information call 755-1512.

May 13 The Canadian Red Cross (Dryden and District Branch) is currently seeking volunteers for upcoming events.  Tag Day is May 21st at several different locations throughout Dryden.  For more information, contact the Canadian Red Cross office in Dryden at 223-4751.
