Morning Announcements – Feb. 9, 2012

Feb. 9 It was a podium sweep for the Eagles Nordic Ski Team at the NWOSSA Championship in Marathon yesterday.  Luke Smith captured the gold, while Ilya Perkins took the silver and Braydon Smith took the bronze.  In senior boys Adrian Lizzi was neck and neck with the pack and caught an edge and wiped out.  He made an excellent comeback to finish fourth with a respectable time in the 6.8 km race.
Feb. 9 The Dryden Rotary Club is once again sponsoring Adventures in Technology, which is a 6 day event running from Sunday April 29th to Saturday May 4th, 2012.  One DHS student will be chosen to join students from across Western Canada for an intense exploration of advanced technology, research development and applications.  This is a highly academic program having students visit some of Canada’s finest corporations and research facilities.  If you would like to be considered for this program or wish to nominate another student, please forward the name to Guidance.  Deadline for applications is Wed., March 14th.  For more information, contact Guidance.
Feb. 7 – 10 Spectator bus consent & permission forms are available in the Phys. Ed. office – 1st come, 1st served & money paid will be accepted.  There is a limited # of seats.  This is for the Court Sports NorWOSSA playoffs in Fort Frances next Wed. Feb. 15th.
Feb. 7 – 10 Valentine’s!  You only have 2 days left to have Cupid deliver a rose or Persian to your special someone on Valentine’s Day.  Come see us in the student square today & tomorrow at lunch before time runs out.
Feb. 9 To all Grade 11 and 12 students … if you are interested in a career in the health care field, there is a presentation on Thursday, February 23rd.  Doctors, Lab Technicians and an Occupational Therapist will be speaking.  Please sign up in the main office.
Feb. 9 To all potential graduating students – Graduation Photos will be taken here at Dryden High School on Feb. 14th, 15th & 16th.  Sign up sheets are here in the main office on the counter.  A $15.00 session fee must be paid at your appointment time.
Feb. 6 – 11 Warehouse One is once again having their Jean Trade-In for Charity.  Between now and Feb. 11th you can bring your gently used jeans or other items you no longer need or want to Warehouse One.  If you donate 1 pair you will receive 10% off your entire purchase – 2 pair 15% and 3 pair is 20%.
