Morning Announcements – Feb. 8, 2012

Feb. 8 Attention members of the following teams:  girls volleyball, boys basketball, cheerleaders, girls & boys hockey, wrestling & ski teams – please come to the big gym immediately @ the end of period 1 to prepare for the Pep Rally.
Feb. 8 The Dryden Rotary Club is once again sponsoring Adventures in Technology, which is a 6 day event running from Sunday April 29th to Saturday May 4th, 2012.  One DHS student will be chosen to join students from across Western Canada for an intense exploration of advanced technology, research development and applications.  This is a highly academic program having students visit some of Canada’s finest corporations and research facilities.  If you would like to be considered for this program or wish to nominate another student, please forward the name to Guidance.  Deadline for applications is Wed., March 14th.  For more information, contact Guidance.
Feb. 7 – 10 Spectator bus consent & permission forms are available in the Phys. Ed. office – 1st come, 1st served & money paid will be accepted.  There is a limited # of seats.  This is for the Court Sports NorWOSSA playoffs in Fort Frances next Wed. Feb. 15th.
Feb. 7 – 10 The DHS business students are once again running Cupid’s Delivery Service.  Order your special someone a rose or a yummy Persian bun and we’ll deliver it to their block A class on Valentine’s Day.  Roses are $5.00 and Persians are $2.00.  Order yours at lunch Tues. to Fri. this week in the student square.
Feb. 8 To all Grade 11 and 12 students … if you are interested in a career in the health care field, there is a presentation on Thursday, February 23rd.  Doctors, Lab Technicians and an Occupational Therapist will be speaking.  Please sign up in the main office.
Feb. 6 – 8 Grade 12 students in a senior science last semester or this semester.  There is a trip to Lakehead U on Thursday, Feb. 16th.  See Mr. Mitchell in room 107 for more information.  Room is limited, so the sooner the better.
Feb. 8 Hopefully you got an entry into our Draw for an itunes gift card.  Did you have fun trying to name that fish or fur bearing mammal?  Well if you had fun than maybe you should consider joining the Envirothon team.     Come to an info meeting today @ 11:30 in room 107, and find out how you can get a trip to southern Ontario in May.
Feb. 8 To all potential graduating students – Graduation Photos will be taken here at Dryden High School on Feb. 14th, 15th & 16th.  Sign up sheets are here in the main office on the counter.  A $15.00 session fee must be paid at your appointment time.
Feb. 6 – 11 Warehouse One is once again having their Jean Trade-In for Charity.  Between now and Feb. 11th you can bring your gently used jeans or other items you no longer need or want to Warehouse One.  If you donate 1 pair you will receive 10% off your entire purchase – 2 pair 15% and 3 pair is 20%.
