Morning Announcements – Feb. 14th, 2012

Feb. 14 The girls hockey team battled back from a 2 – 0 deficit to defeat the BB Broncos 3 – 2 yesterday in Kenora.  Getting the Eagles going was Morgan Church and Alexis Reid who set up Kristen Bartlett for their first goal.  Also scoring was Ashley Kropelin and Alexis Reid.  CJ Ecker was in net with a very strong performance.  The girls play the Muskies tonight in Fort Frances.
Feb. 14, 15 Calling all aboriginal students 13 -16 years old.  Join in on the fun at the Mini Winter Olympics and Youth Games.  Jordan Gardner for “Right to Play” is looking for 8 more students to participate in activities like snow sculpting, Eskimo kick, tubing & tobogganing.  There is no cost for this 3 day, 2 night winter camp.  For more information pick up the registration forms in the main office.
Feb. 14 The Dryden Ringette Association is looking for volunteer time keepers for their tournament on Sat. Feb. 18 & Sun. Feb. 19th.  Please sign the list in the main office by next Wednesday.
Feb. 14 The Dryden Rotary Club is once again sponsoring Adventures in Technology, which is a 6 day event running from Sunday April 29th to Saturday May 4th, 2012.  One DHS student will be chosen to join students from across Western Canada for an intense exploration of advanced technology, research development and applications.  This is a highly academic program having students visit some of Canada’s finest corporations and research facilities.  If you would like to be considered for this program or wish to nominate another student, please forward the name to Guidance.  Deadline for applications is Wed., March 14th.  For more information, contact Guidance.
Feb. 14 To all Grade 11 and 12 students … if you are interested in a career in the health care field, there is a presentation on Thursday, February 23rd.  Doctors, Lab Technicians and an Occupational Therapist will be speaking.  Please sign up in the main office.
