Morning Announcements – April 12, 2012

Apr. 12 Congratulations to our DHS badminton team for a well played NorWOSSA here at DHS yesterday.  Four teams advance to represent the Blue & Gold at NWOSSA next week.
Apr. 12 This is a reminder to the Track and Field Team that pictures will be taken in the big gym at 11:30 a.m. today.  Athletes are reminded to bring their uniforms and warm-up suits for these photos.
Apr. 12 London’s Calling!!  Ambassador applications are due today.  See Mr. Markham ASAP!
Apr. 12 Attention Grade 11 & 12 students.  There is a tour of Seven Generations Education Institute in Fort Frances on April 19th – that’s next Thursday.  Space is limited.  Learn about Police Foundations, Teaching, Social Work & Culinary Programs.  Please sign up in the guidance office.
Apr. 12 There will be a Rainy River Community College presentation on Friday, April 13th from 11:30 – 12:30 in room 137.  Students interested in Science and Math programming, are encouraged to attend.  See guidance for more information.
Apr. 12 Attention Potential Grade 12 Grads:  Cap & gown order forms are available in the main office – these must be filled in & returned to the main office with $25.00 by April 20th.  If you’re not planning to attend the ceremony, you still need to fill in a form.  If you are attending the grad ceremony, a cap & gown must be ordered & worn.
Apr. 12 Brochures & information pamphlets are in the Phys. Ed. office for anybody interested in going to various summer camps for sports this summer.

Apr. 12 For a limited time, Grade 12 Cosmetology Students are selling flat irons and curling irons.  Place an order with any Grade 12 Cosmo student or see Mrs. Durocher in room 124A.
Apr. 12 Canadian Blood Services is asking for 30 students and staff to rally together to save lives by donating blood at DHS on Tuesday, May 8 – 12:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.  There are 30 appointment spots to fill between 12:30 & 1:30 p.m.  Those wishing to donate at other times or for other information can call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283).  A single donation can help up to three people, so every donor counts.  Sign up is here in the main office. 
April 12 Anyone looking for volunteer hours, the Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to help at the Home & Trade Show Relay for Life booth next weekend.  Please sign up in the main office this week.  Volunteers are needed on Thursday & Friday after school and evening and all day on Saturday.
