The DHS “Schools Building Schools” group held their first fundraising event on Friday.

“Access Denied” required students and staff to purchase tickets to allow access to certain areas of the school of Friday, including some washrooms, the library and the staff room.

The event was designed to raise funds and have the student body of DHS reflect on the difficulites that are faced by those who do not have access to the facilities that we do.

Schools Building Schools is a student-run initiative based out of schools across Northwestern Ontario that aims to raise enough funds to build a new Tierra Blanca School in E Asintal, Retalhuleu, Guatemala.
