Morning Announcements – Tuesday, February 4th

Feb 4 “Congratulations to all Nordic Ski Team athletes who competed at NORWOSSA in Atikokan yesterday.  A break in the weather produced an excellent race time temperature of minus 12.  In the Junior Girls category, Britney Mol won gold on the 3.7km course.  Devan Schmidt took the bronze in the Junior Boys category, skiing 4.5km, while Dryden dominated the Senior Boys 7.5km category with Luke Smith winning Silver and Jeff Wise winning Gold!  Athletes will be preparing to compete next week at NWOSSA in Kenora.”

Feb 4 Grade 12 Graduation photos will be taken next week on Feb. 11, 12 & 13.  Please come to the office for a brochure on how to book your appointment. Retakes will be on March 26 & 27.

Feb 4 The Ontario Educational Leadership Centre is offering several leadership courses this summer.   Students will develop leadership skills through their choice of courses such as music, the arts, athletics or French.  For more information and applications stop by the guidance office.
Feb 4 The University of Toronto is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for Aboriginal youth.  As a result, a SOAR program during the March break of 2014 is being offered.  The program is at U of T – for more information please pick up an application form and a brochure in the Guidance Office.  The deadline to apply is this Friday.

Feb 4 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario MUST let the guidance office know, or your transcripts will not be sent. Also, please remember to check the DHS website and the binder in the guidance office on a regular basis for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
