Morning Announcements – Thursday, September 26th, 2013

Sept 26 Reminder that the Safe food handler students are to meet in room 124B at 9:00 this morning.
Sept. 26 Also a reminder that Mrs. Ambridge’s class is to meet in the student square first thing this morning.
Sept. 26 It’s Drama Day today – so bring your lunch to Room 125 for the Dramatic Arts Association meeting.  We are voting for the communications officer and doing Improv!  Be sure to come and play.
Sept. 26 Congratulations to the Eagles Cross Country team for dominating Beaver Brae, St. Thomas and Fort Frances once again yesterday.  The team won again and kept their 5 year streak alive, remaining undefeated against all Norwassa teams.  Great job Eagles!  DHS won all age group team categories, 8 metals and 3 golds with individual wins by Jake Wickstrom, Jacob Benson and Andie Wood.
Sept. 26 – Oct 2nd Picture day is on Wednesday, October 2nd.  If you did not receive the pamphlet you can pick one up at the office.
Sept. 26 Grade 12 students – Please check the DHS website and the binder in the guidance office on a regular basis for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
Sept. 26 CIP(Ontario Colleges) September 30th- Representatives from several Ontario colleges will be set up in the Cafeteria

University of Manitoba – October 7th

UIP (Ontario Universities) – October 8th – Representatives from all Ontario Universities will be set up in the Cafeteria

Confederation College – October 29th @ 9 am – Library

Signup sheets are in the guidance office and a complete list of all presentations is posted by the guidance office.

Sept. 26 The Dryden Rotary Club is sponsoring a grade 11 or 12 student to attend Adventures In Agriculture. THIS PROGRAM is held during the internationally acclaimed Canadian Western Livestock Show and Sale held annually in Regina. The program is aimed towards senior students interested in agriculture and is designed to help broaden knowledge and understanding of the versatile agricultural sector, environmental issues, and the challenge of providing food for the world. Interested students should go to the GO. (Deadline is Oct. 25th to register)
   
Sept. 30, Oct 7, 14, 21… There will be a GSA meeting at lunch every Monday at 11:30 in room 206.
