Morning Announcements – March 27, 2015

Mar 27 The Dryden Ski Club is holding its annual Slush Bowl Windup this weekend.  The hill will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10-4, with the Slush Bowl on Sunday, shortly after noon.  Come out and take part in the fun or just watch as we celebrate the end of another season.
Mar 27 Did you know that tomorrow; Saturday is Earth Hour.   And millions of people across the world will be shutting off their lights for 1 hour at 8:30 local time.   To help celebrate earth hour we’ve asked classrooms to use natural lighting or to shut off half their lights today if possible.   Visit EarthHour.org to see how this movement has helped make our world a more environmentally friendly place to live.
Mar 27 April is poetry month at the Dryden Public Library and they are having a poetry contest.  Poems may be submitted by emailing library@dryden.ca or dropped off at the Library.  Submission deadline is April 22nd – winners will be announced April 29th.
Mar 27 Dryden Youth Soccer is pleased to host a week long British Soccer camp at the North Dryden Soccer field at the end of June and also there will be a 2 hour Kickstart camp on Friday, April 10th.  If you are 16 or younger and are interested, please come to the office for more information or see the posters in the student square to register. Deadline to register is March 29th.
Mar 27 Science North is recruiting individuals for their outreach programs. A “hand-out” with details is available in the Main Office.
Mar 27 Grade 12 students it is time to start applying to university and colleges and you can also check out the latest scholarship and bursary information on the DHS website.  Please stop by the Guidance office for more information.
