Morning Announcements – Friday, February 7th, 2014

Feb 7 Jacquie Grandmont backstopped the girls hockey team to a 5 – 2 win against the Beaver Brae Broncos last night in Kenora.  Liv Carter netted a natural hat trick while Elizabeth Carter and Lyndsey Oliphant added singles.  The girls next action is against the Muskies in Fort Frances next Tuesday.  Listen to the game live on CKDR.
Feb 7 Attention students interested in trying out for Eagles track and field.  Join us for our event clinic this weekend.  National level coaches will be on hand to teach throwing, jumping, sprinting hurdles and mid distance events.  The clinic will be held in the big gym on Friday 3:30-5:30pm, Sat 9am-3pm and Sunday 9am-12.  This is a great chance to try out all the events and pick the ones you like.

Feb 7 There will be free tutoring in the library on Tuesday mornings from 8:15 – 8:45 am and Thursdays at lunch from 12 – 12:30 pm
Feb 7 Grade 12 Graduation photos will be taken next week on Feb. 11, 12 & 13.  You must have an appointment booked on-line or your picture will not be taken.  Please come to the office for a brochure on how to book your appt. Retakes will be on March 26 & 27.

Feb 7 The Ontario Educational Leadership Centre is offering several leadership courses this summer.   Students will develop leadership skills through their choice of courses such as music, the arts, athletics or French.  For more information and applications stop by the guidance office.

Feb 7 The Heart and Stroke Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with Heartburn Day/who makes the best chili.  This will be held at the Fair Grounds on Saturday.  Please come to the office for further information.

Feb 7 Grade 12 students applying to universities and colleges outside of Ontario MUST let the guidance office know, or your transcripts will not be sent. Also, please remember to check the DHS website and the binder in the guidance office on a regular basis for the latest scholarships and bursaries.
