This diver is going down to lay dynamite to destroy the piles of wood that were used to support the bridge at Eton Rugby. The piles were wooden posts that were driven into the bottom of the river with a pile driver. This photograph dates to 1941. The man's last name was McDonald and he was the son of the contractor who was building the bridge.
