It is interesting to note that some of the boys wore heavy boots to school. (note the boy seated in the center of front row).
It has been commented by alumni that these boots were very hot and were often worn by the boys year round.
Of course this caused one's feet to perspire and taking the boots off created an unpleasant milieu for those around.
