Thurs. March 23rd Announcements

Mar 23 After shaking off a 6 to 1 defeat to the third ranked St. Mary’s Crusaders the boys hockey team played their best hockey of the season at Ofsaa in Fort Frances tying the 5th ranked Campbellford Flames 1 to 1 and defeating the Widdifield Wildcats 3 to 0. The team finished tied for 2nd in their pool but lost out on advancing to the quarterfinals on goal differential.

Great Effort Team.

Mar 23 There will be no gym in the small gym today.
Mar 23 Domtar is holding the annual Conservation Camp on May 24 – 26th for Grade 9 students.  There is a limited number of spots available and you can sign up in the main office.
Mar 23 Track is back!  Anyone interested in joining the Eagles Track & Field team are encouraged to attend practices from 3:30 - 5:00 pm in the small gym Mon – Fri.  We hope to see you there.
Mar 23 My blueprint is now open to select courses for the 2017-18 school year.  Please have your selections submitted by Mar. 31st.  If you need help logging in, please see the Guidance Office.
Mar 23 OSSLT writers are reminded to return their completed Literacy prep booklets to Room 116 by Monday, March 27th.  Those who complete the booklet have a chance to win a pair of beats.
Mar 23 Dryden Youth Soccer is open for online registration at zone4.ca.  Or registration night will be on April 4 & 5 at St. Joseph’s School Library from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  There is a sheet at the office with more information if you are interested.
Mar 23 Reminder that Tues. March 28th is a shortened day.  Pd. 1 begins at 10:15 am.
Mar 23 On Wed. April 12th, Josten’s will be here if any students are interested in a DHS school ring or other jewelry.  There will be an appointment sheet in the main office to book a 15 minute appointment.  Students can go online to design your ring and print out an order form at www.jostens.com and remember to bring a $60 deposit to place your order.
Mar 23 The next session of Grad photos can now be booked for March 28th, 29th, 30th & the morning of the 31st. Go to Lifetouch.ca/Tbay or come to the office for a pamphlet on booking. Grad photos will be taken in Room 117 in the Business Wing.
Mar 23 If you’d like to gain valuable skills, earn money and have fun this summer, then apply for summer student jobs with the Ontario Public Service.  Go to Ontario.ca/Careers to apply or there are extra posters in the office.
Mar 23 There are numerous opportunities for getting your hours… Come to the main office or Guidance office for further contact information if you are interested.
Mar 23 If you are 18 or over and have not filled out the Consent to Release Information Form, we need these forms filled out as soon as possible Also, for information on the latest scholarships and bursaries, preview & information days, application information and much more, check out our website @ dhseagles.com and click on the guidance tab.

Tues. March 21st Announcements

Mar 21 Track is back!  Anyone interested in joining the Eagles Track & Field team are encouraged to attend practices from 3:30 - 5:00 pm in the small gym Mon – Fri.  We hope to see you there.

Mar 21 Today we stop to mark both National Aboriginal Day in Canada and the United Nation Day to End Racism & Discrimination.   To help us remember the importance these days we will be taking time to learn about the history of Residential Schools.   Treaty 3, has set up information on local residential schools in Student Square.  As well Grade 12 students will attend a presentation pd 2, and Grade 11 students will attend a presentation pd 3.   Everyone is invited to a presentation at the Centre that starts at 7pm tonight.   The presentations will include a viewing of the animated film The Secret Path as well as panel discussions from residential schools survivors and intergenerational survivors.
