Tues. June 14th Announcements

June 14 Reminder to staff that there will be a mandatory Trillium update at 4 pm today.  Please log out of Trillium before leaving today.
June 14 Safe Grad Committee is looking for three Grade 11 Students to volunteer at the Grand March on Thursday, June 23rd from 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm in the big gym  Please contact Kelly Sutton 938-7429.
June 14 The Dryden Public Library will be opening at 9:00 am the week of exams – June 20 – 23rd for students who would like to study for exams.  Tim Hortons will be providing coffee and donuts.
June 14 Any students that are not using their netbooks, chrome books or books, please start returning them to the Library.
June 14 Summer school options are open for registration!  You have an opportunity to take coop, paid coop, independent study, and French immersion courses.  If you have already signed up for Civics and Careers this summer, you must pick up a registration letter in the Guidance office.  Please come to Guidance for more information.
June 14 2017 Grads, if you are interested in Safe Grad driving for the upcoming year (starting June 1st) please contact Carmen Moody via Facebook or text 938-7522. Upcoming driving events will be posted on the DHS Safe Grad 2016 Facebook group, for the time being, so pls join this group. In order to make this fundraiser successful for your grad we need your support.
June 14 The gym will be open Monday, Tuesday & Friday from 12-12:25.
June 14 If you are looking for volunteer hours, the walleye masters is this weekend and you’ll get a free supper Saturday night and the Teddy Bear picnic is in July. Please see the Guidance or main office for more information.
June 14 Lakehead University is offering “fast pass” to students who will be attending there this fall.  This is a pre-orientation program designed to help incoming students learn about course registration, program details and university life.  For more information and dates, please visit the Guidance Office.

Wednesday, June 8th Announcements

June 8 The Ministry of Natural Resources & Forests is looking for a summer student to work in the biology lab this summer for 8 weeks and you must be at least 17 years old.  Please go to Guidance for more info.
June 8 Students using SEA technology (iPads and laptops) are asked to return them to Mrs. Jones in the Resource Room as soon as possible or by June 14.

Those students using technology for the math EQAO test are asked to bring their Chromebook to Mrs. Jones by tomorrow and those using technology for their exams are asked to bring the technology (chromebook, laptop, and/or iPad) to Mrs. Jones as soon as possible or by next Tuesday, June 14.

June 8 Grand march tickets must be picked up by the end of the day on Monday (remember Friday is a PD day). The safe grad members will then see how many extras are available at the meeting on Tuesday evening and will then make a decision as to giving out extra tickets.

Principal Ralph McNaughton

Dryden High School remembers and honours the passing of the 5th principal of Dryden High School, Mr. Ralph McNaughton. Mr. McNaughton was principal of DHS from 1970 until his retirement in 1987. Mr. McNaughton will always be remembered as an administrator who was sincerely concerned for the wellbeing of staff and students. He would always go out of his way to ask you how you were doing and he would always ask about your family. He passed away in August 2015.Ralph
