The DHS Eagles Nordic Ski Team enjoyed a break in the weather as they competed yesterday (Thurs) in Atikokan for the first race of the season. Minus 8 temperatures produced good enough glide for the Eagles to claim 5 medals.
In the Junior Girls category, Corrin Kuzemchuk skied to a 2nd place finish over a 3.7km course, while in the Senior Girls 4.5km course, Andie Wood took first place and Britney Mol claimed a 3rd place finish. Over on the boys side, Devan Schmidt took top honours in the 4.5km race, with Josh St Aubin finishing a close second. Ilya Perkins finished 4th in the senior boys 6km race.
The Eagles’ next race will be in Dryden on Feb 2nd
